BBC Breakfast viewers had a nice start to the morning as they saw who was presenting Sunday's (October 1) edition of the morning breakfast show.

Roger Johnson and Rachel Burden did the news bulletins for the day, making a change to the usual Sunday line-up, as Ben Thompson and Nina Warhurst usually present it.

However, with Nina on maternity leave, there has been a rotating door of presenters, and fans were thrilled to see the pair back on their screens.

Rachel took to social media to announce her appearance on BBC, as she shared a glamorous selfie of herself and Roger on the red sofa, as Roger held up a pack of peas.

She penned: "Up and running on @BBCBreakfast this morning…

"Talking about the #ConservativeParty conference, NHS strikes, bad lawns and

@KennyLogan’s bike ride to Paris for @MNDoddie5. But we’re also slightly obsessed with PEAS on toast. Have you had yours?"

It didn't take long for fans to rush to the post to share their joy at the news, as one said: "What a joy…a totally unexpected bit of burden this morning!!"

Another added: "Good morning Rachel looking beautiful as always."

A third chipped in: "Good morning Rachel, happy Sunday."

A fourth wrote: "I blummin love @rachelburden hair ….. on @BBCBreakfast this morning."

The pair spent a segment talking about the new food craze peas on toast, as Rachel referred to a recipe by Tom Kerridge if they wanted to try it at home.

Roger replied: "Or alternatively you can just mush up some peas on some toast", before adding he liked mushrooms on toast.

    Rachel joked: "Anything on toast…toast!"

Ben replied: "Toast on toast. Everyone is running off to the kitchen now to see if they can find some mushy peas."

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC1.
