BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay leaves Sally Nugent grinding her teeth as he swipes at 'traitorous' co-stars | The Sun

JON Kay took a thinly-veiled dig at his BBC Breakfast co-stars as he likened working with them to partaking in brutal reality TV hit The Traitors.

He made the swipe this morning as he discussed the confirmation that the BBC would be bringing back the wildly successful show back for a second season, with co-star Sally Nugent.

The comments left Sally giggling through gritted teeth as Jon made light of the working environment on the Beeb's morning offering.

As Jon told the viewers that another series had been commissioned following stellar viewing figures, Sally went onto explain the concept of the TV programme for any viewers that may be unfamiliar with the show.

Sally said: "Now if you've not seen it, the show follows a group of people with some secretly chosen to be traitors."

Jon then made his snide remark as he said to his fellow presenter: "It's a bit like here to be honest."

BBC Breakfast favourite Sally laughed at his comment as she appeared to agree with him about the 'traitorous' nature of the show.

She added:  "It is isn't it? What are we? We're faithfuls."

The pair then welcomed one of the first series' winners Hannah Byczkowski about what the potential contestants could expect to see from the next series.

It comes as the broadcaster has finally confirmed they're 100% no traitors to the show and it will be back for another round.

Claudia Winkleman will also return as host to the British version of the series.

About the return, Claudia said: "I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately."

Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, added: "Last year’s ambitious and bingeable hit The Traitors with Claudia Winkleman is coming back with the brilliant team at Studio Lambert set to bring viewers another magnificent series full of drama and suspense.

"We can certainly expect even more deceit and psychological games for the Traitors and the Faithfuls."

Casting for season two is now officially underway, with Claudia donning the show's iconic Traitor cloaks in order to make a callout for those taking part.
