BBC Strictly Come Dancing judges ‘wow’ viewers in very spooky Halloween costumes

Strictly Come Dancing judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas, all donned spooktacular costumes for the show's annual Halloween special.

Craig impressed viewers as Harry Potter professor Severus Snape, whilst Motsi wowed in a spider-themed outfit, complete with a giant cobweb behind her head.

Anton dressed as a mad scientist and head judge Shirley Ballas wowed as the evil queen from Snow White for the spooky-themed show.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on social media, with one saying: "Think a shoutout to the costume department is called for! The judges look fab! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

Another added: "THE JUDGES' HALLOWEEN COSTUMES WOW #Strictly," while a third shared: "Ok the judges look absolutely INCREDIBLE, serving on those Halloween looks! #Strictly."

This isn't the only year that the judges have went all out for Halloween as last year, they transformed into the Addams family.

Shirley dressed as Gomez Addams, complete with a fake hand on her shoulder whilst Craig wowed as Morticia Addams, leaving viewers open mouthed as he sported a long black wig, a gown and knee-high boots.

Motsi wore a skeleton-inspired outfit as she had half her face covered in jewels whilst Anton Du Beke looked worlds away from his usual smart self, dressing as a long-haired pirate.

Tonight's episode also saw hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman address Amanda Abbington's exit from the show as it kicked off.

Amanda, 51, who left the show earlier this week for personal reasons, was honoured by the Strictly team.

As the show started, Tess and Claudia announced that Amanda wouldn't be returning to the show and sent her their best wishes.

They said: "Now earlier this week Amanda Abbington withdrew from the competition. We are sending you all our love" and the audience clapped in support.

Earlier in the week, Amanda released a statement on Instagram explaining her decision to leave the show, which left fans puzzled as she didn't mention her dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

She did, however, praise the Strictly team for their support and wrote: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue."
