Amanda Abbington shuts down feud rumours with Gio and says they ‘laugh a lot’
Amanda Abbington, who was partnered with Italian pro dancer Giovanni Pernice on Strictly Come Dancing, might swerve the finale show, it has been reported.
A source has claimed the actress will not return to the 2023 Strictly Come Dancing finale over the festive period.
Amanda quit Strictly Come Dancing in week five, explaining on social media that personal reasons were behind her departure.
Just a handful of celebrities remain in the BBC competition which is continuing to heat up as the finale draws closer.
A source told The Mirror: “There have understandably been lots of questions asked about Amanda’s sudden departure.

“That has been difficult – especially for Giovanni, who has been upset about people seeing it as a reflection on him.”
They claimed: “They wanted to position her as still very much part of the Strictly family, but Amanda’s response to the invitation was she’d not be back.”

Her Strictly Come Dancing exit news was announced on the spin-off show It Takes Two by host Fleur East.
Fleur said: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
“The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
A montage of Amanda’s best bits from her time on the show was then played, with Fleur adding: “Amanda we are sending you all of our love.”
Topping the leaderboard this weekend were Layton Williams and his partner Nikita Kuzmin who scored an incredible 39 out of a possible 40 for their sultry Argentine Tango.
Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, as well as Nigel Harman and Katya Jones also scored highly for their routines.
Next Saturday marks Blackpool Week for the competition where the stars will dance their socks off at the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday evening on BBC One.
