Strictly: Angela Rippon talks about her exit from show
Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Scanlon has been dealt a crushing blow just hours before Saturday’s live show.
The bookmakers have been coming up with their latest elimination predictions, and it doesn’t look good for Angela and her dance partner Carlos Gu.
The presenter has been given odds of 6/4 to depart the show on Sunday despite scoring a personal best of 38 points last week.
However, Annabel Croft is narrowly behind Angela with odds of 15/8.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “We’re very much in the business end of proceedings in this year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing, with Angela Scanlon our favourite to depart on Sunday despite scoring 38 points last week.

“The presenter is 6/4 with us to be the ninth contestant eliminated this weekend, though Annabel Croft (15/8) will likewise have to put in a serious performance to secure her path to the final five.
“Should both survive week 10, then previous outright winner favourites Nigel Harman (9/2) and Bobby Brazier (5/1) will be nervously looking over their shoulders.”
Although, on the flip side, Ellie Leach and her dance partner Vito Coppola are currently the frontrunners to win the 2023 series.
Last weekend, Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington were eliminated from the competition. The duo landed in the bottom two alongside Bobby Brazier and his dance partner Dianne Buswell.

After the dreaded dance-off, all four judges decided to send home Angela, meaning Bobby was safe for another week.
When speaking with Tess Daly about her Strictly journey, Kai broke down in tears.
The 79-year-old said: “I have had the time of my life, people keep making reference to the fact that I presented Come Dancing, but that was forty years ago, that was a different time!
“He [Kai] wasn’t even born then! But actually being this side of the competition, this side of the programme has been really an eye-opener for me in so many different ways.
“Everybody talks about the team and all the pros – everyone who has danced – there is a real team spirit in this programme, unlike anything I’ve come across anywhere else in any of the many programmes I’ve done. It’s absolutely fabulous.
“They support us, they encourage us all the time – it’s absolutely wonderful. But the person who really has to get the most credit is this gentleman here [to Kai].”
“He’s [Kai] an old soul on young shoulders. He’s 28 and I’m 79, there’s a 51-year difference in our ages. He has looked after me so brilliantly, he’s a wonderful dancer, a great choreographer, but he’s a terrific teacher… and he has the patience of a saint!
“All I can say is that you’ve [to Kai] got me here so don’t you dare cry! He and his partner, Nadiya, are in every sense of the word beautiful people and I am so pleased to have you in my life.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
