BBC Strictlys Ellie Leach addresses fears ahead of Saturdays performance

Vito Coppola kisses Ellie Leach on Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing’s Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola joined The One Show presenter Lauren Laverne and Ronan Keating on Monday night, where the former Coronation Street revealed her fears ahead of her dance on Saturday night.

Lauren noted: “It has been announced that you are doing the Rumba on Saturday night!” before Ronan asked: “How are you feeling about that?”

Ellie admitted: “I am not gonna lie the Rumba scares me because it is the slowest of the Latin dances.

“You really have to exaggerate every single movement and there is nowhere to hide, got a lot to think about.”

Ronan also commented on Ellie’s new nickname after impressing the judges and asked: “Ellie how are you feeling about your new title Queen of the lifts?”

Laughing at the question, Ellie added: “I know! Queen of the lifts, I was like really that is quite a good title guys!

“I think for me it is trying to be graceful which for me I really can’t do and it takes time, I have never done this before.

“When we were told about the lifts, the Salsa was the first routine with lifts and I was like ‘I am scared, I am really scared’.

“But then this week with the American Smooth I was like, ‘Ok then! Let’s just go, lifts again? How many?’.”

After their performance on Saturday night and making it through to another week in the competition, Ellie took to her Instagram page to thank her fans for voting.

Alongside an image of her and Vito dancing, she wrote: “Thank you, thank you, thank you.

“What a magical night, we are so grateful for all of your support and we’re soooo happy to be through to another week on that strictly dancefloor.” (sic)

Ellie and Vito scored a near-perfect score of 39 out of a possible 40, with Craig Revel Horwood failing to award the couple a 10.

He explained whilst he loved their dance, their chemistry and the technique of their performance, he picked up on a missing heel lead which lost them a point.

The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One.
