Big Brother 2022 spoilers LIVE — New HOH to be revealed TONIGHT after shocking twist that left one contestant in tears | The Sun

BIG Brother is airing a new episode tonight, where a new HOH will be crowned.

The episode comes after last week's shocking twist, where former HOH Matt Turner put up replacement nominees Terrance and Ameerah.

During the meeting, the 23-year-old contestant called out other members of the house for their behavior.

"Behind closed doors a lot of you say some crazy things about individuals," he said.

"I really don't want to draw the line in the sand by saying this, but as the youngest one in the house, I don't feel like I should be the one to say that it's not OK. But here I am."

Contestant Taylor Hale became emotional during Turner's anti-bullying speech, as it was the first time someone in the house stood up for her.

Tonight's episode of Big Brother airs tonight on CBS at 9pm ET.

    What is the Zingbot?

The housemates were astonished and perplexed during season 12 of the program when they were awakened by a strange robot that made fun of each of the remaining participants.

Later, the robot was given the name Zingbot, and contestants and viewers alike eagerly anticipate its appearance each season.

Zingbot visits the house every summer with jokes that are both funnier and meaner, per ScreenRant.

The jury on Big Brother, explained

The last nine contestants that are kicked out of the house make up the jury.

These participants are brought to a different home, where they remain cut off from the outside world until the grand finale.

The final step is for them to choose which of the final two players they think deserves to win.

    What is backdooring?

Backdooring is a strategy used by the Head of Household to evict their target.

When successfully used, backdooring means nominating pawns that are likely to win the veto.

Once the pawn vetoes themself, the HOH can nominate their actual target – who will have no chance at saving themselves.

    Faking the job

Because of the stiff level of competition in the Big Brother household, it is a common occurrence for houseguests to lie about their past employment.

For example, while 28-year-old Michael Bruner is an attorney, he strategically chose to disclose to his housemates that he is an escape room worker.

Brittany Hoopes, a 32-year-old hypnotherapist from Atlanta, led her housemates to believe that she is a professional tester of toys.

Reddit users speculated about what the ideal fake job would be as a game-play cover. The perfect fake job, agreed upon by many users to raise the least eyebrows: “retail.”

One of the longest-running reality shows

Big Brother is one of the longest-running reality television shows.

Although it is highly popular, it is also tied with other hit competition shows like The Masked Singer and Survivor.

Big Brother did not have a Black winner until 2021

The show has received backlash in the past for a lack of representation.

It was not until season 23 when attorney Xavier Prather won the show and became the first Black winner.

Xavier beat Derek Frazier in the final two with all nine jury votes.

      First female winner

Lisa Donahue became the first female winner in Big Brother history after winning season 3 in 2002.

After the show, the former bartender went on to start a career in photography and launched her own company in Los Angeles.

      The BB Motel

For season 24 of Big Brother the house is called the BB Motel and is inspired by Palm Springs, California.

The style of the motel this season is a mid-century “blast from the past.”

It is also inspired by a “golfer’s paradise” that is popular in Palm Springs.

      The way it works

Big Brother is a social game show that airs live during the summer. To participate in the Big Brother game, between 12 and 16 people—referred to as houseguests—move into a house, per InsideSurvivor.

They remain there until they are either victorious or are kicked out.

Seasons have a duration of 70 to 99 days. Competitions for the game’s powers are held every week, and the winner is the one who is ultimately sent out of the home.

Viewers may also tune in nearly whenever to find out what their favorite houseguests are doing using the live feeds Paramount Plus sets up.

Most casual viewers are fine with simply the edited programs, but live feeds are necessary for some and not for others.

      Big Brother airing schedule

Big Brother will continue to air three days a week as usual. The timetable, according to Big Brother Network, is as follows:

      • Sundays at 8pm ET
      • Wednesdays at 8pm ET
      • Thursdays at 9pm ET

Thursday nights will feature live evictions.

      How to watch live feeds

The live streams are accessible on Paramount Plus around-the-clock and are accessible to viewers who subscribe to the service.

Two subscription packages are available from the streaming service.

Users have the option of subscribing to a premium membership plan for $9.99 per month or paying $4.99 per month to access material without advertisements.

There’s a dress code at the house

Houseguests are not permitted to wear any clothing, including shirts, jeans, caps, coats, etc. with recognized logos, unless it was provided by the production or it has prior consent to be worn, according to Housely.

Additionally, they are instructed to refrain from donning items of clothing that are completely white, made of silk, or have polka dots or fine stripes since they do not look good on television.

        Big Brother history, continued

Although countries have their own variations, the shared theme is that the houseguests are constantly under surveillance and isolated from the outside world.

The first season of BB in the US was in 2000, and since 2001, the American version of the show has allowed contestants to vote each other out, instead of having a public vote determine who was evicted.

Some countries have adopted the American version of eviction voting, although others have stayed with the original format.

The celebrity version of BB was introduced in the US in 2018, and its third season is currently underway.

        Big Brother’s international history

The original Big Brother first aired in the Netherlands. It was created in 1999, and it initially did not allow luxury items.

The show originally featured a survivalist element, despite contestants being provided with basic amenities.

BB was quickly adopted internationally, with each country putting its own spin on the show.

        Big Brother is always watching

In the Big Brother house, there are over 80 HD cameras and 100 microphones, which record contestants’ every move during all hours of the day.

Contestants do not have contact with the outside world, according to CBS.

        First-ever HOH

Mike “Boogie” Malin was the first contestant to ever be crowned Head of Household.

Malin was crowned during season two of the show, as there were no HOH competitions during the first season of Big Brother.

Only three guests have been expelled

Big Brother has clear guidelines on inappropriate behavior, according to Bustle.

Yet, out of the roughly 200 candidates who have entered the house, just three have been eliminated early rather than as a result of breaching the rules or engaging in violence, the outlet reported.

          Show expulsions happen

A few houseguests have been kicked off the show over the years, according to Insider.

This includes Chima Simone from season 11, who threw her microphone into the pool despite numerous demands by producers to turn it on, and Justin Sebik from season 2, who drew a knife on a fellow participant, per the outlet.

          Fans yell over studio walls

Production has to cope with the problem of “wall yellers” almost every summer, ScreenRant reported.

These are the viewers who visit the studio lot where the Big Brother house is situated and scream things at the contestants from the opposite side of the wall.

Fans usually seek to provide players with information about the game or the outside world by doing this, which might affect the competition.

          Big Brother viewership declining

Despite becoming one of the most well-known reality television series, Big Brother’s viewership has been dropping recently.

Despite a significant turning point in the history of the program for season 23, when Wisconsin attorney Xavier Prather became the first Black contestant to win, the season’s viewership fell.

When compared to the first episode in July 2021, Big Brother’s season 23 finale had a 13 percent decline in viewers.

Big Brother was tied for third place with The Masked Singer and Survivor as a result of the decline in viewers.

However, it was “a tremendous honor” for Prather, the season 23 champion.

          Recruits must watch a season

Before participating in the competition, each candidate must watch at least one complete season of Big Brother, according to ScreenRant.

This is done to familiarize recruits with the program.

The houseguests are given access to old episodes of the program to view while they are secluded before the show starts.

Since more recent seasons are more in line with the games now, many of these competitors choose to watch them.

This is attributed by some fans to the recently popularized “dominate alliance” tendency.
