Big Brother in new backstage row as crew ‘want housemate out’ after not-seen-on-screen homophobic slur | The Sun

BIG Brother’s backstage crew are up in arms over Kerry’s offensive language on the show and “want her out” following the use of a homophobic slur on air.

Behind the scenes, crew were convinced she’d be up for eviction tomorrow night so would be dealt a “natural punishment” simply through the show process.

But when housemates’ votes instead put Zak and Henry up for the chop instead, furious workers were less than impressed.

A crew source said: “Behind the scenes Kerry is deeply unpopular with crew, who of course see and hear everything.

“The homophobic slur felt like the final straw, really.

“There's a feeling of disappointment that she wasn't up for eviction; they wanted her out."

Big Brother new secret romance ‘revealed’ by fans

Kerry’s slur – which The Sun has chosen not to repeat –  was broadcast on the live stream after producers failed to catch it in time.

Normally, birdsong plays out when housemates are discussing something that can't be aired.

However, between 11pm and 2am on October 16, Kerry's comment threw the show into a homophobia row.

After Olivia and Jenkin hid her mattress as part of a prank, Kerry went off on a rant, during which time she used an offensive slur.

A crew member has now revealed that Big Brother did call Kerry’s into the Diary Room to deliver a stark warning about her language.

Big Brother reminded her: “This kind of language is entirely unacceptable and contrary to the values of respect and inclusivity that Big Brother upholds."

The crew source added: “The warning is a good sign Big Brother is clearly taking a strong stand against such behaviour and sending a clear message that it will not be tolerated which can only be a good thing.

“But even better would be to remove the offensive housemates.

“Crew remain totally shocked that Kerry wasn’t up for nomination.”

The slur isn’t the first time Kerry has caused controversy inside the famous house.

She came under fire this week for complaining to her housemates about being in the higher tax bracket because of her earnings.

A spokesman for Big Brother said: "Kerry was brought to the diary room to discuss her inappropriate use of language.
