Big Brother winners now – addiction battle, lawsuit, Playboy quitting fame

Earlier this year, it was announced that Big Brother will return to our screens next year following a four-year hiatus.

The beloved Channel 4 show was loved by millions up and down the country as a group of contestants were thrown into a lavish home for weeks and forced to live together without access to the outside world in an attempt to win a cash prize.

The reality show produced the likes of TV presenters Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson and radio host Adele Roberts in addition to many now legendary TV moments.

And with the show set to return to the airwaves now produced by ITV, Daily Star have taken a deep dive to see where the series winners are now.

Craig Phillips (2000)

Craig Phillips was the first ever winner of Big Brother back in 2000 and notably went on to donate his cash prize of £70,000 to a close friend with Down’s Syndrome, Joanne Harris, who needed the money for a heart and lung transplant.

The reality star now works as a DIY expert and has gone on to appear on multiple DIY-style TV shows such as Celebrity DIY with Craig Phillips, If It’s Broke Fir it and now works as a presenter for the SilverLine Tools YouTube channel.

In 2018, he married Laura Sherrif following two years of dating and went on to welcome two children together, three-year-old Nelly and her younger brother Lennon, two.

Brian Dowling (2001)

Brian Dowling won the hugely popular TV show not once but twice – the second series of the show in 2001 and then again for the Ultimate Big Brother series in 2010.

Since the show, the Irish presenter has gone on to have a thriving in a career in television and has presented Live from Studio Five alongside Kate Walsh for a year until 2011.

He went on to present two series of Big Brother and four series of Celebrity Big Brother before he was replaced by Emma Willis.

Kate Lawler (2002)

Kate Lawler was the first female winner to take the throne on the hit TV show back in 2002 and it’s fair to say the starlet has gone from strength to strength in the radio industry.

The blonde bombshell has gone on to host her very on radio show on popular stations such as Capital FM and Virgin Radio.

She has also appeared on other reality shows such as Celebrity Wrestling and Celebrity Love Island in 2006 where she failed to find love.

But she wasn’t single for long, after the 42-year-old met her fiancé Martin ‘Boj’ Bojtos and welcomed their first daughter together named Noa last year.

Cameron Stout (2003)

Cameron Stout who hailed from Orkney, Scotland stole the hearts of the nation during his time on Big Brother, which soared him through to the finish line.

Since he won the show, the loveable fish trader donated his eye-watering stash of winnings to his local church to pay for a new piano.

Now, he works as a teacher in Scotland after he qualified back in 2010, in addition to running an independent escape room business.

He is also an avid investor in his community after he launched his quietly successful rock choir in Orkney.

Nadia Almada (2004)

Nadia Almada first waltzed onto our screens back in 2004 after she became the fifth person to win Big Brother which aired on Channel 4 and hosted by Davina McCall.

After her success on the show, she went on to launch her music career which unfortunately didn’t take off as her debut single, A Little Bit of Action, reached No27 in the UK singles chart in 2004.

She then took part in a few other reality shows including Big Brother Australia and Celebrity Fitness Videos Not Fit For TV alongside Lorraine Kelly and Eamonn Holmes.

The brunette beauty then returned to the legendary house in 2010 for Ultimate Big Brother in 2010 alongside Brian Dowling but sadly didn’t make it to the finish line after she came in 10th place.

Anthony Hutton (2005)

Loyal fans of the famed TV show will remember Anthony Hutton had a romp with Makosi Musambasi in a steamy hot tub encounter before he was crowned the nation’s favourite housemate.

Since he soared to fame with his enviable TV winnings, the 40-year-old invested his funds into his own hairdressing business, Mr Hutton’s Barbers and Bar in the heart of Darlington.

He also launched his own online hairdressing academy where he regularly supplies training for aspiring barbers.

Now, the TV hunk has gone on to become quite the family man after he welcomed his son with his loving wife Sophie.

Pete Bennett (2006)

Pete was quite the fan-favourite on the reality show where he quickly became known for his electric personality and famous fling with late housemate Nikki Grahame who sadly passed away last year.

In 2010, the TV star confessed on The Jeremy Kyle Show how he had wasted his winning on his ketamine addiction which forced him to return to his day job as a full-time cleaner until he became sober.

He later set up a cleaning business where he reportedly charges £100-an-hour, but it didn’t take long before the reality star returned to showbiz after he appeared in a slew of low-budget films.

This included horrors Female Zombie Riot and Crispy’s Curse, as well as stealing a spot in Catherine Tate’s Nan Movie which released earlier this year.

Brian Belo (2007)

Brian Belo became the eighth winner of Big Brother back in 2007 and made TV history as the youngest winner of the series so far.

He went on to ride out his fame by dipping his toe into the acting role after he made a cameo appearance in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks which opened the doors for him to explore the wonders of stage and screen.

But it was the music industry that stole his heart, and Brian didn’t waste time before breaking into the industry as he launched his first debut single, Essex Boy, in July 2008.

Brian later launched a lawsuit against the makers of TOWIE, claiming they stole the idea from him, before reaching a settlement.

However, the track failed to make it into the UK charts, and now the TV star lives a quiet life away from showbiz after he deleted all his social media platforms.

Rachel Rice (2008)

Rachel won the TV show back in 2008 but quickly turned her back on her famous TV life to pursue a career as a teacher.

The brunette beauty used her winnings to pay off her student loans and donated the rest of her funds to charity while she continued to follow her educational career.

It is understood that Rachel is now a headteacher at a school in the heart of Wales and even welcomed two sons called Lachlan and Caleb with her loving husband.

Sophie Reade (2009)

On the TV show, Sophie famously changed her middle name to “dogface” as part of a challenge back in 2009 before she was voted the nation’s favourite housemate.

Since she won the show, the blonde bombshell has gone on to boast a smashing modelling career where she appeared in Playboy in addition to many calendar shoots.

The TV star has since become a loving mum to her son who she regularly shares on social media, but that’s not all that she’s done.

She has gone on to launch a successful OnlyFans account where she shares a slew of saucy snaps with her adoring fans on the adult website.

Josie Gibson (2010)

Josie Gibson won with the highest percentage of votes in any Big Brother series to date, charting a whopping 77.5% of the public vote when she was crowned the winner in 2010.

Since winning Big Brother, Josie continues to appear on our screens and spread a little joy after she secured her regular slot on This Morning alongside Vernon Kay.

In her personal life, the blonde bombshell has become a loving mother to her three-year-old son named Reggie-James.

Aaron Allard Morgan (2011)

Since he took home £50,000, Aaron Allard Morgan has gone on to forge a nifty TV career, as he continues to make regular appearances on show such as Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and The Wright Stuff.

Before he made the nation swoon with his devilish good looks, the Weston-Super-Mare star used to work as a contract manager.

But after winning the show, the TV hunk put all of his winnings into opening his lavish bar in his hometown.

Luke Anderson (2012)

Luke Anderson made TV history as the first trans man to win Big Brother throughout it’s time on the airwaves and has since become a proud advocate for LGBT rights.

The TV hunk has since become quite the successful chef and was even crowned Chef of the Year back in 2010.

He has also become father to twins with his loving partner who he regularly shares on social media with his loyal legion of fans online.

Sam Evans (2013)

Welsh heartthrob Sam Evans stole the hearts of the nation after he won the fourteenth series of Big Brother.

But the TV star didn’t let his impressive success go to his head after he revealed his plans to return to working as a shop assistant at Debenhams.

However, this wasn’t the first time that Sam appeared on TV after he appeared on Deal or No Deal back in 2012 where he won an eye-watering £7,000 in addition to a week’s holiday in Egypt for two.

Helen Wood (2014)

Helen Wood first rose to notoriety outside of the Big Brother house, as she was linked to stories in the news about Wayne Rooney.

But she didn’t let that hold her back from success as she went on to become the winner of the 15th series of the reality show where she took home a whopping £100,000.

After her TV stint, the brunette beauty decided to pen a tell-all autobiography about her wild life before and after the show, and was even a columnist for Daily Star for a while.

Chloe Wilburn (2015)

Unlike many of her housemates, Chloe Wilburn quickly returned to her day job as a medical cannabis activist and a CBD seller after she won the show in 2017.

In 2017, the brunette beauty announced to her loyal legion of fans on Twitter that she was happily engaged.

But that wasn’t the only joyous news she delighted her adoring fans online with, after she welcomed her first child later that year.

Jason Burrill (2016)

Jason Burrill stole the hearts of the nation on Big Brother in 2016 with his bulging biceps and impressive six pack as he stormed his way to the finish line.

But he was also quite the famous stunt man before his reality star stint, as he revealed how he was one of the prominent stunt men in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

And that wasn’t the only blockbuster movie he has starred in, as he went on to appear in TV shows such as The Serpent, Essex Vendetta and Stranger in the World amongst many more.

Now, the TV hunk continues to share his shirtless snaps and lavish lifestyle with his loyal legion of fans online.

Isabelle Warburton (2017)

It comes to no surprise to loyal fans of the show that Isabelle Warburton – who won the 18th series of the Channel 5 series – went on to open her own beauty salon.

The 25-year-old was known for her layers of fake tan and peroxide blonde hair, and the starlet has gone on to pass on her pearls of wisdom and makeup tips at her Summer Bunny Studio in her hometown of Warrington.

But four years one the blonde bombshell looks worlds away from her iconic TV stint as she now rocks more natural glam as she models for her loyal legion of fans online.

Cameron Cole (2018)

Cameron Cole was the final winner of Big Brother before the show was pulled off the air in 2018, but the TV sweetheart is still just as memorable as his fellow winners.

The brunette heartthrob took home £100,000 and set a new record as the youngest person to win the reality TV show at the age of just 19.

His time was especially memorable, as he came out as gay to his housemates – and everyone watching at home – in one emotional episode.

Since the show ended, the star has gone on to finish his studies at university and continues to share his wild life with his loyal legion of fans on social media.
