Black Adam is just hours away from hitting cinemas, but fans have already been given many details about what is coming. Dwayne Johnson has been very open with fans of DC Comics that he is fighting for Superman to make a comeback – for good. And now, one of the Black Adam producers, Hiram Garcia, has opened up about Henry Cavill’s triumphant return, and what it means for the future of the franchise.

After years out of the cape, Johnson has all but confirmed that Cavill will feature in Black Adam in some major way.

Garcia teased this comeback further in a new interview by revealing the long-rumoured battle between Black Adam and Superman will not be just a “one-off” event.

Instead, he and his longtime creative partner, Johnson, want to build something that will last.

Garcia said: “No, it’s about so much more than that. We really want to craft a long form of storytelling and show that these two characters exist in the same universe and are going to have to deal with each other often, either on the same or opposite sides.”

Garcia added: “Hopefully they’re going to clash at some point, but it’s not just about a ‘one fight’ situation. That was never our dream. That does not reward the fans. Fans want to feel a journey between these guys knowing that these guys exist in the same universe.” (Via Cinema Blend)

Johnson has been extremely clear in recent weeks that, all the work he is doing for the DC franchise is for the fans.

He recently stated: “I’ve been waiting for someone to step up and address the fans and say: ‘Hey, we hear you.’ So finally, after many months turned into many years, we ended up with what we ended up at.”

Johnson added that the “whole goal and intention” is to create a new era. “Now,” he added. “Let’s build out.” (sic)

DC are no doubt chasing the kind of cinematic empire that Marvel have been working on for well over a decade. And Johnson confirmed as much on his Twitter account earlier this week.

He told his fans: “#BlackAdam will serve as our phase 1 of storytelling in our DC Universe. Exciting times for the brand to build up and build out.” (sic)

Cavill was last seen on the big screen as Superman in 2017’s Justice League – one of Warner Bros’ supreme financial and critical flops.

Black Adam hits cinemas tomorrow.
