BGT: Simon has something 'stuck' in his throat
Britain’s Got Talent was back on ITV as the 10 hopeful contestants took to the stage to impress the judges.
Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Viggo Venn, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, Travis George, Malakai Bayoh, Duo Odyssey, Lillianna Clifton and Cillian O’Connor all hoped to win a place at the Royal Variety Performance and the cash prize, with wildcard Tonikaku rejoining the show at the last minute.
During one of the performances, viewers noticed judge Simon Cowell in discomfort and they took to Twitter with concern.
Matthew wrote: “Simon choking to death #BGT” while Lilly added: “Simon casually choking in the background #BGT”
Kaitlyn Murphy asked: “What’s wrong with Simon’s throat lol #BritainsGotTalent #BGT #BGT2023”
Aidan penned: “Medic for Simon #BGT” as Sharon asked: “Is Simon OK?! #BGT”
Imo wrote: “F*** is wrong with Simon pls?? #bgt”
Sophie Sharp shared: “The way Simon was choking and instead of Amanda patting him on the back she stroked his back softly #bgt”
The incident happened at the end of singer Amy Lou’s performance, which meant Simon was unable to give any feedback as he said he had something stuck in his throat.

In terms of who was predicted to win this year’s show, Ladbrokes had dancer Musa at the top with odds of 4/6.
Viggo was second in the running at 5/2, followed by Malakai at 6/1, Ghetto Kids at 12/1 and Cillian at 16/1.
Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Cillian sailed through Friday night’s semi-final and, while he’s not a rank outsider by any means, Musa Motha has a pretty tight hold on BGT favouritism.”
Viewers hit out within minutes of the final for bringing Tonikaku back as the wildcard.

CG concluded: “Who’s worried? I bet hardly anybody wanted him back. Plenty of other better acts. I suppose it limits the field for the ones they want to win.”
Becka Fletcher added: “Are they being serious! Pant man is their wild card?! What a waste of a wild card! #BGT”
