Carol Vorderman says contestants on I’m A Celeb South Africa are ‘so competitive’
Carol Vorderman is one of nine famous faces returning to see Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly again in the new All Stars version of I’m A Celebrity.
Having been filmed in South Africa last summer, the show has already seen its winner crowned, with viewers keen to find out who it is.
In order to be in with a chance of becoming an I’m A Celeb Legend, the campmates went up against one another in the brutal Bush Tucker Trials.
They had to knock one another out of the competition in order to get closer to the finish line, but it was no easy feat for Carol.
She opened up about one Trial in particular which left her questioning how she had survived.
She said: “Some of the trials are: “HOLY C**P! How did I live?! I’m not exaggerating.
“There was one trial that petrified me. And I’m not frightened of anything. I don’t think I’ve ever been as scared in my life.
“And the b****rs took what we’d call a trial – I was thinking: ‘I can cope with that because I’ve done it before’ – and put it on speed. Everyone will love watching it. It was brutal,” reports The Sun’s TV mag.
The series was filmed at Kruger National Park in South Africa and as it has been pre-recorded, there will be no public vote when it comes to nominating contestants for the Trials.

Instead, the campmates will go head to head in order to knock one another out of the competition, leaving their fates in one another’s hands.
Some of the other campmates expressed their excitement about spending time with Carol in the camp, praising her enthusiasm.
Olympian Fatima Whitbread called Carol her “ideal campmate”, while Jordan Banjo said working with her had been a “wicked” experience.
Asked why he thinks the show is so popular, Jordan said the chance to see celebrities stripped back to basics is everyone’s favourite guilty pleasure.
He said: “People have a perception of celebrities and their luxurious lifestyle. To be stripped back is a guilty pleasure because it is funny to see!
“Look at Carol Vorderman for example. She is beautiful but to see her drinking a smoothie made from a random animal’s genitals isn’t what you expect to see.”
Carol said she was not going to have a game plan this time around, adding: “Last time I did I’m A Celebrity, I tried to double bluff everyone.
“I told them I was frightened of things I wasn’t really, like heights! It did sort of semi-work. It’s just important to enjoy it and have fun.”
I’m A Celebrity All Stars starts on ITV from April 24 at 9pm.
