Some fans are not certain whether or not this is a permanent or temporary exit from the show, as one viewer asked: "@ChuckyVenn Please tell me Jacob has not left forever. He will be back won't he? #Casualty."
Another wrote: "This can't be the end for Jacob, surely? We need to find out more about Omo's message from beyond the grave, for one thing! But mostly, because I can't cope without seeing Jacob on my TV every week!"
