GOGGLEBOX will air as planned tonight on Channel 4, the broadcaster has confirmed.

In a statement, Channel 4 said they would broadcast the programme like planned to offer viewers an 'alternative' to the news.

The show sees ordinary folk become armchair critics as they watch television.

It will start as normal at 9pm.

"Channel 4 has made significant changes to our schedule, including added extended news coverage, to ensure that Channel 4 is respectful following the news from Buckingham Palace about the death of Her Majesty The Queen," said a spokesperson.
