Channel 4 viewers livid as broadcaster crashes in middle of programme | The Sun

VIEWERS of Channel 4 were left outraged after the broadcaster crashed and went off air this afternoon.

Fans who had been tuning into popular letters and numbers game Countdown, were left disappointing as the episode was interrupted mid-way through as Channel 4 suffered a blackout.


The broadcaster placed a holding message on the screen telling the viewers: "Programmes continue shortly."

Furious fans rushed to share their angst at being unable to see the afternoon favourite as they questioned what had gone wrong.

Writing online, one disgruntled viewer complained: "Channel 4 just cut out for anyone else? Just went black during Countdown thought it was my TV."

Another said: "Just gone down for me too! I thought it was my internet!!"

A third fuming fan hit out at the broadcaster as they said: "Come on Channel 4, been down 20 minutes now?"

Whilst a fourth questioned: "What's happened to Channel 4? Went down during 'Countdown' and not come back.

According to DowndetectorUK, the broadcaster began suffering the outage issue at around 2:32pm.

Writer Scott Bryan also tweeted about the occurrence and played on Channel 4's social media accounts tweeting four line Valentine's poems throughout the day.

He jokingly wrote: "Roses are red, Violets are blue, Channel 4 has broken down again, what about you?"

The issue appeared to be resolved before the airing of daytime favourite A Place in the Sun.
