Coronation Street was full of drama on Monday night as Sarah Barlow risked her marriage to Adam Barlow when she invited flirty Damon Hay to her hotel room.
During the latest episode, Nick Tilsley was horrified to find Damon sitting at his desk as the latter menacingly reminded him that he still has a financial interest in the business.
And in a twist, he revealed he's hired a new solicitor who Nick might have heard of – with Nick left furious at Adam for agreeing to act on behalf of Damon.
Later, a horrified Sarah rowed with Adam and announced that she’s off to the hotel he booked for their date night on her own.
And in true soap style, later, Damon ordered a drink in the hotel bar as Sarah parked herself next to him, unaware of who he is…
As the night progressed, Damon chatted her up to which Sarah admitted she had rowed with her husband and later a tipsy Sarah invited Damon up to her room for a drink…
However, after seeing a card from Adam in her room, Sarah soon had a change of heart as she sent Damon away, who dropped her his phone number.
But things soon took an awkward turn when Damon bumped into Adam in the lobby, who had gone to find Sarah, as she then spotted the trio – realising that her mystery man was in fact Damon.
Soap watchers were left baffled during the scenes as they questioned how Sarah couldn't have possibly known who Damon is despite him working with her brother Nick and husband Adam.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "How doesn’t Sarah know Damon when he’s been in the bistro many times when she’s in there? Doesn’t make sense #Corrie."
A different account put: "So Sarah doesnt recognise Damon from him hanging around her brothers bistro for weeks ?? #Corrie."
Another follower wrote: "Surely Sarah knows who Damon is #Corrie #CoronationStreet."
While a different viewer added: "So Sarah has never seen Damon around the street before then? #Corrie" with a confused emoji.
Later in the week, Sarah's unimpressed to realise Adam is still representing Damon as she secretly meets up with the latter to beg him to stay away from Nick and Adam. However, Damon refuses to make any promises…
It comes as Sarah actress Tina O'Brien said of her character's new storyline to Metro: "I’ve been trying to find some moral reason as to why Sarah would behave in this way and actually I’m not really sure there is one.
"So I’ve just decided to play it as an opportunity that’s presented itself, she’s at an age where maybe life feels a bit sensible, a bit boring, and then something has come along that’s kind of caught her eye a little bit.
"She knows she shouldn’t, but she’s tempted anyway, and it’s as simple as that. These things happen, I’m not saying it’s right and Sarah knows that but I’m guessing she’s going to go there anyway."
