Coronation Street: Eliza and Sam strike up a friendship
Coronation Street’s youngster Max Turner (played by Paddy Beaver) has been off screens for the last couple of months after being detained for his far-right crimes.
On Friday night, Max returned to screens alongside David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) where they were discussing the possibility that his sentence may be shortened.
However, Max was less than up for talking about it, claiming he didn’t want to get his hopes up to be let down again.
Max later attended one of his classes where Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) encouraged the class to write about how they were feeling in a journal.
Daniel was soon let down by his class after they all made up imaginary stories, instead of taking his task seriously before he stepped out to take a call from Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
When entering the room once again, Daniel left his phone on the side and Max saw his opportunity to take it.
Viewers of the show took to their Twitter pages to theorise that Max has caused himself more trouble and possibly more time on his sentence by stealing the phone.
@Clawmaw laughed: “Dry Daniel thinks an inmate might grow a conscience and hand his phone in. How naive can you get? #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”

June Dansles theorised: “I bet that Max will get caught with Daniel’s phone and end up ruining his chances of getting out early.”
@Anitaspinter commented: “Oh dear oh dear Max, you shouldn’t be stealing the phone… you’ll get in more trouble than it’s worth.”
@MillyMooMoos0 added: “As if he would be able to just steal it like that and Daniel would not notice… he’s gonna regret that decision so much.” (sic)
When discussing Max’s state of mind and how he is feeling in the STC centre, Paddy Beaver explained: “This is the lowest point we have seen Max at.
“Max has had a long life of difficulty but this is a period where all of that stops and he is forced to reflect on it all.
“Max hasn’t had a happy life and at the moment he is sitting in a cell, with nothing to do, and he is thinking about everything that he has done wrong and what has happened to him in his life.
“He debates the point of carrying on. He expresses thoughts of hopelessness and he is experiencing a lot of pain.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
