Coronation Street killer Stephen Reid to be ‘caught’ as AI spots missed evidence

Coronation Street: Stephen Reid commits second murder

AI tools have predicted how Coronation Street’s serial killer Stephen Ried (played by Todd Boyce) will be caught out for his string of horrific crimes.

Since arriving back in Weatherfield last year, fans of the ITV soap have seen the Canadian businessman commit multiple murders to stop his lies and schemes from being exposed.

From pushing Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) off of a balcony, hitting Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) over the head and drowning Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo) in his pool, Stephen’s got away with three killings in the soap.

However, as the murderer has slipped up on multiple occasions, viewers have been left wondering when he’ll finally get caught for his crimes.

According to an artificially intelligent tool called Bard, they predict the truth could all come to an explosive end.

When Daily Star questioned how Stephen would get caught, it created four possible scenarios for his downfall.

The most likely outcome would be from getting arrested by the police who are currently looking into Leo’s death.

It told the publication: “This is the most likely scenario, as the police are already investigating his involvement in the death of Leo. If they find enough evidence, they could arrest him and charge him with murder.”

Another possible scenario is Stephen making a mistake involving one of the murders, which could result in him being behind bars.

The AI database said: “Stephen is caught by the police, he could be sentenced to prison for his crimes. This would be a fitting end for him, as he would be locked away for the rest of his life, effectively ending his time on the show.”

Although the AI system highlighted it’s also likely someone spots what the killer is up to.

It stated: “Someone he knows could see him commit a crime or overhear him talking about it or he could be tricked into confessing by someone he trusts.”

Stephen’s managed to get away with his killings, but just how long can he continue before he’s finally exposed?

Over the past few weeks, he’s attempted to commit his fourth murder after setting his sights on fiance Elaine Jones’ (Paula Wilcox) money.

Although his lies were recently revealed to Elaine, the soap star told Express.co.uk how her character fell for the killer’s charm.

She said: “The idea of Stephen is so attractive because she’s lonely and he’s very presentable as a partner, isn’t he?

“He’s well taken care of, he looks smart, he’s intelligent and he seems to be a very gentle and kind person.

“She’s just fallen hook, line and sinker, and is now very focused on this marriage and sharing with somebody and filling those last years in a really happy way.”

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
