Coronation Street legend Wendi Peters has said “Chesney is dead to me” after her character got snubbed from his wedding.
The soap star, 55 shot to fame playing Cilla Battersby-Brown on the long-running soap from 2003 to 2007.
For four years, and for a brief stint in 2014, the character caused plenty of drama on the famous cobbles with her hubby Les and two kids Chesney and Fiz.

But despite leaving the show over 15 years ago, it seems Wendi is still up-to date with current storylines – so much so that she’s not too happy with a recent snub her character faced.
The TV legend spoke exclusively to Daily Star at the British Soap Awards, and when asked if a reunion is on the cards she replied: “Never say never, and Cilla is always talked about.
“But Chesney just got married and he didn’t invite his mother did he?” she mused, before quipping: “He’s dead to me, Chesney’s dead to me.”
As viewers will know in recent episodes, Chesney got hitched to Gemma.
Recalling her time on the show, Wendi said: “It was such happy memories and I had such a great time there, it almost felt like Sam (Chesney) was my son because he came in at such a young age and he grew up with me.”
“When I come back in Manchester I see them and I catch up with them.”
She appeared as Cilla on Coronation Street in more than 250 episodes between 2003 and 2014, but has also starred in the likes of Bad Girls and Out Of The Blue.
In 2006, she was one of the celebrities to take part in ITV reality series Soapstar Superstar and performed songs including The Lady Is A Tramp.
During her time on the programme, she rubbed shoulders with Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter and Coronation Street's Richard Fleeshman, before coming in sixth place overall.
After departing the cobbles in 2007, Wendi made a cameo appearance as Cilla Battersby in the soap spin-off Coronation Street: Out Of Africa.
She was also a finalist on Celebrity Masterchef in 2009, before touring the UK in theatre productions such as Grumpy Old Women Live 2, White Christmas, Crime Stories and Call Me Vicky.
That's not all, as she has also appeared in TV series such as Midsomer Murders and Flockstars.
