Coronation Street spoilers confirm domestic abuse horror as villain unveiled

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed a shock domestic abuse storyline for one of its characters, following the horror plot that saw Yasmeen Metcalfe suffer at the hands of her husband Geoff.

Viewers have recently seen Summer Spellman's boyfriend Aaron covered in bruises and making desperate phone calls to a mystery person – and now their identity has finally been confirmed.

Next week, Summer heads to the garage to find Aaron nursing a fat lip, and her boyfriend hurries away to hide from her.

Catching up with him, Summer quizzes him about his injury, but Aaron simply snaps. Later, however, he apologises to Summer as he reveals his dad has been beating him – he's an alcoholic and occasionally lashes out at his son.

Things are set to get even darker later in the week, as Summer's A-level results are in – she's secured A*s in French and Maths, but was disqualified from her English exam.

Aaron calls to collect her for the holiday, but she collapses, throwing Aaron into a panic. As she regains consciousness, Summer explains to Aaron that she just accidentally forgot to take her insulin.

The pair head back from the tram station and tell Todd they missed their flight. Back in the flower shop flat, Aaron rummages around in Summer's bag and can't believe what he finds – but what has she been hiding?

It's not exactly paradise in another young relationship either, as Craig and Faye reach breaking point. Craig begs Carla not to put Faye under extra pressure at work, but Faye tears a strip off him for humiliating her in front of the boss.

Apologising for doing her head in, Craig presents her with a special nightgown designed to keep her cool from hot sweats and improve her sleep – which only makes Faye more distraught.

A desperate Craig asks Faye if he should move back in with his mum, and she snaps at him to do as he pleases – and Craig begins to pack his things.

Later that week, Faye watches as Craig and his fellow officer Jess grow closer at their community engagement stall, hurt that he seems to be enjoying himself without her.

Carla later cracks open a bottle of fizz as she congratulates the Underworld workers for getting their big order out ahead of schedule – and Faye lets the alcohol go to her head in the Rovers beer garden, as she makes a pass at Michael Bailey.

But how will he react?
