Lynn Kennedy, who plays Karen Rutherford on Coronation Street, has confirmed that she is waving goodbye to the soap and departing the role.
The actress confirmed via social media that she has already filmed her final scenes for the show, after joining the show back in March.
"And just like that, Karen's off. Bye @coronationstreet it's been amazing," wrote the soap star as she beamed in the mirror while donning a red padded jacket.
Karen is the estranged older sister of Daisy Midgeley's stalker Justin Rutherford, who was at the centre of a storyline which shocked fans – as a harrowing plot twist saw Ryan Connor revealed to be the victim of a vicious acid attack while defending Daisy from Justin.
Initially arriving in town ahead of her brother's acid attack trial to warn victim Daisy of his behaviour – Karen later changed her mind and went up against her after learning that Daisy had a history of manipulating men.
In a bid to help her younger brother, Justin, Karen passed on Daisy’s history of manipulation to his lawyer ahead of the court date.
However, it wasn't enough to get him off the hook, with episodes this week showing Daisy and Ryan nervously awaiting to hear Justin's verdict in court.
During the episode, Justin was led into the dock and both barristers delivered their closing speeches, where Daisy's hope faded.
And after an agonising wait while the jury deliberated, it was finally announced that the jury finds Justin guilty.
While as Justin was getting led away, he shouted: "Daisy, I still love you!" as he promised that they would be together again in the future.
Fans were left delighted over the outcome as one person tweeted: "GUILTY!!!!!!!!! Ryan & Daisy got the justice they deserved. #Corrie" with clapping emojis.
The acid attack episode, which has had many hooked, even bagged two British Soap Award gongs earlier this week for Best Single Episode and Scene Of The Year.
While Coronation Street scooped up four other wards, including Daisy actress Charlotte Jordan for Best Dramatic Storyline and The Platts for Best Family. However, when it came to the coveted Best Soap nod, EastEnders walked away with the trophy.
