Coronation Street: Ryan leaving Weatherfield
Jenny Connor (played by Sally Ann Matthews) has been struggling financially as she tries to keep the Rovers Return afloat.
In coming Coronation Street episodes, viewers will see her make some changes to the pub in order to save money, which will include smaller portion sizes.
However, it seems like her efforts won’t be enough to keep the doors open as actress Sally teased she could be forced to sell up.
If she does lose the pub, Sally think Jenny could end up working at corner shop or helping Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) in The Kabin.
Speaking to TV Times, Sally said of the Rovers: “It’s everything to her.

“She saw it when she first moved to the street as a beacon of friendship, shelter and community, so she feels she needs to carry on that legacy.
“She’s been trying her best, but she’s known for a while that things aren’t looking good.”
If Jenny does sell up, Sally would like to see someone just as determined take over.
“I think Shona would be good, because she’d take no nonsense and she’d be able to deal with unruly people,” the star suggested.

“How long she would last, I don’t know, because she has lost the ability to be tactful [due to her 2019 brain injury]. I’d quite enjoy watching unfiltered Shona behind the bar.”
This week, Jenny confides in Owen that the Rovers is struggling financially but when he suggests she should sell up, Jenny’s annoyed and makes it clear that’s not an option.
Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) suggests that rather than increasing prices, she should reduce portion sizes.
How will the new hot pots go down with the regulars? There’s a loud bang from the kitchen and the lights go out.
Later, Jenny tells Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Glenda that on Stephen’s advice, she’s putting up bar prices and room rental.
The staff are also shocked to discover she’s cutting their shifts, and the customers unimpressed by the price hike.
Trying to help out, Sean (Anthony Cotton) hands out flyers to promote Darts Night but when nobody turns up, Jenny’s utterly deflated.
Having found Kirk, Gary, George and Sean drinking beer and playing darts in Ed’s backyard, a tearful Jenny confides in Daisy that with trade the way it is, they’re only weeks away from closing for good.
