Coronation Street’s Ryan Connor’s health takes terrifying turn

Coronation Street: Daisy and Ryan have heart-to-heart in hospital

Since becoming the victim of the acid attack at the hands of Justin Rutherford (played by Andrew Still), Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) has been left with serious burns to his body and face.

After needing skin grafts as a result of his injuries, the Weatherfield resident has been staying with his aunt Carla Connor (Alison King) since leaving the hospital.

With ex-girlfriend Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) turning him down, he’s been finding comfort in potential love interest Crystal (Erin Austen), although unbeknownst to him he’s been messaging Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).

As Crystal brutally rejected Ryan, Daisy’s been pretending to be the Ibiza DJ to keep Ryan’s spirits up.

However, in scenes set to air next week, it looks as though her good intentions could have dire consequences.

When Daisy checks in on Ryan, he’s left disappointed when she tells him she’s off to meet Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) for lunch.

Later on, Ryan suddenly feels a wave of pain when he’s alone and instinctively he calls Crystal, although Daisy decides to ignore the call.

However, after another call Daniel urges Daisy to call him back but she settles for a text pretending to be Crystal and decides to go and see him after.

After seeing Ryan, she’s left concerned when he states he’s going to call Crystal, resulting in her having to adopt a different voice to keep up the façade.

Trying to put him off of Crystal, Daisy makes a rude comment and tells Ryan she prefers country music to club tunes.

Although her plan to deter him backfires when she discovers a voice message for Crystal from Ryan revealing he’s going to fly out and see her in Ibiza.

Attempting to put him off going, the game is almost up when he wonders how Daisy knew he was planning a trip, luckily for her Ryan buys her story that she had seen him looking at flights.

Going for a drink at the Rovers later on, Ryan is thankful for her for making him face his demons as they both stare at one another, clear there’s something developing.

Ryan starts to feel increasingly unwell and rushes to the toilet to be sick, all alone he scrambles to his phone and leaves Crystal a message before drifting into unconsciousness.

Elsewhere, Daisy realises she’s left her second phone at home but unbeknownst to her, Daniel has taken it to give to Max Turner (Paddy Bever) for him to secretly share if he’s having trouble with the other boys at the detention centre.

When Daisy discovered Daniel has given the phone away, she’s furious as she demands he gets Max to give it back as soon as possible.

Although could it be too late as Max finds the voice message meant for Crystal and is concerned when he realises Ryan’s in danger? Will it be too late for anyone to reach Ryan in time?

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
