Coronation Street’s star admits Stephen Reid actor will be ‘really missed’

Coronation Street: Stephen Reid commits second murder

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has confessed Stephen Reid actor Todd Boyce will be missed as his character’s downfall looms.

Last year, ITV fans watched in horror as Stephen claimed the life of his first victim Leo Thompkins (played by Joe Frost).

It wasn’t long before he later went on to kill Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) and Rufus Donahue (Steven Meo) who threatened to expose his lies and crimes.

However, his evil ways are finally starting to catch up with him after Leo’s body was discovered, causing Stephen’s downfall to begin.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media publications, soap star Sally Dynevor touched on what it’s like to work with Todd.

She said: “It’s funny because when you’re walking around a supermarket, people will say, ‘Oh my gosh that Stephen I hate him, he’s awful.’

“I just have to say to them, ‘Look he’s probably one of the nicest men you will ever meet.’

“He’s lovely, he’s really a very beautiful man and it’s been a pleasure doing any of the scenes with him.”

The actress confessed Todd is in one of her favourite films and she often asks him what it was like on set.

She added: “He’s a really lovely, lovely man to talk to about absolutely anything and he’ll be really missed.

“He’s been a lovely part of the cast, you know when you get an actor like that, that joins the cast it’s really sad when they leave.

“You get this relationship with them but I think he’ll just go on to do wonderful things because I think he’s fabulous.”

Although it’s not yet been confirmed if Todd will be leaving the cobbles, the downfall of his character is imminent.

Official spoilers for next week reveal Sally’s husband Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) decides to inspect the canal after seeing Stephen acting suspiciously.

Finding the hand of a corpse, he tries to flee the scene and call the authorities for help, although killer Stephen is on the scene to try and silence him for good.

Attempting to strange him in his car with his tie, Tim manages to escape but is later knocked on the head with a brick by Stephen before being shoved into the boot of a car which gets doused in petrol.

Will Tim survive Stephen’s vicious attack? Or will Stephen get away with murder once again?

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
