Coronation Street: Evelyn and Cassie
Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) is set to ruffle some feathers in Weatherfield as Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) fumes over his bond with Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King)
Official spoilers for the ITV soap reveal the trio decide to enjoy some time together at the Rovers pub quiz with Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
However, it’s clear how close Yasmeen and Roy have become, resulting in Stu feeling left out.
Not wanting to feel like a burden, he decides to leave the pub in a grump, letting the duo carry on with the quiz without him.
Roy and Yasmeen have struck up a new friendship ever since she paid him a visit in the hospital after he had his stent operation.
Yasmeen had found his late wife’s red coat, which he thought was lost for good after it had accidentally been donated to charity.
The coat had brought Roy comfort since Hayley’s (Julie Hesmondhalgh) death in 2014, although when it was mistakenly donated, he was heartbroken.
Thrilled that it’s now back in his possession, he and Yasmeen have been spending more time together, including a book reading at the library.

However, it’s not just Stu who has felt left out by their bond as Coronation Street fans saw Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) plagued with jealousy.
Over the past few weeks, Evelyn’s feelings for Roy seemed to have developed on a deeper level since his health scare.
Before Roy went into theatre, he decided to write letters to those most important to him in case he didn’t make it.
Although Evelyn let her nosiness get the better of her and was moved by what he had written.

Heading to the hospital to share her own feelings, it was then that she discovered Yasmeen had discovered the coat.
It looks as though any potential romance between the two long-standing friends will have to wait as Evelyn fled Weatherfield at the end of June.
Her estranged daughter Cassie (Claire Sweeney) came looking for help to get clean off of drugs as Evelyn took her away to detox.
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
