Corrie Camilla star’s life – rival soap role, ‘drunken fling’ and co-star clash

Louise Marwood will soon arrive in Weatherfield as newbie Camilla in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.

But some soap fans might recognise her from Emmerdale and other TV programmes too.

Joining the Manchester-based soap as Phill Whittaker's ex-wife, could Camilla's presence leave Fiz's wedding to her new love be in jeopardy?

After arriving on the street and proving to Fiz Stape that she knows Phill far better than she does, Camilla insists that she and Phill are in love and that he wants her back.

But away from the drama of the Dales and filming on the cobbled streets of Corrie, what has Louise's life been like?

Daily Star has taken a look insider her life away from the cameras.

Early years

Louise was born on March 13 in 1979, making her 43.

She grew up in Bristol before training at the Oxford School of Drama.

Before she entered the wonderful world of soap operas, Louise worked under the name of Louise Howells and appeared in various television programmes including Waking the Dead and Law & Order: UK.

She also appeared as part of sketch show Comedy Bitch until 2010.

Not much is known about Louise's life and career prior to Emmerdale due to her name being different.

Emmerdale stint

Dedicated soap fans will remember Louise from when she starred as Chrissie White in ITV's Emmerdale.

She was cast in the role back in October 2014 and played the the role of fiancée to Robert Sugden, and a member of the White family.

Chrissie arrived in the village with her fiancé Robert, her father Lawrence White (John Bowe) and her son Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson).

The family headed up Home Farm and were the resident 'posh' and uber wealthy family at the time.

She departed the soap in 2018 when her character was killed-off in a car accident.

But she did appear in a whopping 459 episodes during her time on the show.

And if you're even more of a dedicated soap fan than some, you might remember when she initially played a minor role as Fiona Heath in 2010.

'Drunken fling' with colleague

Back in 2015, Louise was reported to have had a 'drunken fling' with a sound man, according to The Daily Record.

She allegedly 'got it together' with Alan Paling, a then-41-year-old boom operator on the ITV show, while his girlfriend slept at home.

It was reported that Alan's girlfriend, Cate Mills sent furious messages on Facebook when she found out about the betrayal, after finding messages on his phone.

She accused Louise of being a "home breaking b****".

The Sun reported at the time that Louise and Alan had a fling after a night out in Leeds in June.

A friend told the publication: "Cate is in pieces.

"She and Alan were discussing when to have kids and had talked of marriage. Now it's all over. Cate was livid and Louise got both barrels."

Louise reportedly sent a message to Cate to say she "didn't know" Alan had a girlfriend and that she was "truly sorry".

Co-star clash

Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle Emmerdale, became involved in a social media feud with Louise amid the pandemic.

Charley took to Twitter to slam former GMB star Piers Morgan about whether window cleaners counted as key workers during the lockdown.

She penned: "I know window cleaners and gardeners work outside but surely they’re not essential workers.

"Shouldn’t they be staying at home? They’ve been at two of our neighbours today, I’m confused about this ‘lockdown’.

"Shouldn’t we all just be at home unless we absolutely can’t? @piersmorgan.”

Louise couldn't resist snapping back and quote retweeted Charley's tweet and said: “Why are you asking him?”

Charley hit back: "Have you not been reading his feed?

"It wasn’t really a question, it was a discussion.

"This has been the only thing on GMB and I’ve been following it. Why?"

Louise chose not to respond to the reply, but fans rushed to Charley's defence, as one wrote: "He's the only person left in this world that talks sense."

However, one argued: "It makes no sense for anyone to be asking Piers Morgan anything to do with 'essential work', let alone government directive(s)."

Charley then clarified her question as she posted another tweet, writing: "The point of my tweet was to say, it’s not clear who and who can’t travel to work.
