Corrie fans retching after Lauren’s gruesome offer to generous Roy Cropper

Coronation Street fans were left feeling sick following a scene between Lauren Bolton and Roy Cropper, during Monday's episode, 14 August.

It was a tough one for young Lauren, who has just started working at Roy's Rolls.

She has been living with her ex Max Turner and his family at number eight, after her dad was sent to prison.

But during tonight's episode, Max expressed how proud he is of her and he attempted to build up her confidence.

Lauren misread the signs and went to kiss Max, but he rejected her and she ran out of the house.

She made her way to the cafe to ask Roy for her wages as she was planning on leaving the street and resigning from her job.

Shocked at what she was saying, Roy fed her as he said no big decisions should be made on an empty stomach.

Then when Roy found out that Lauren didn't have anywhere to go, he told her that she could stay on his sofa.

His kind gesture shocked Lauren, who was even more taken aback when he said the only thing he wanted in return was for her to take back her job resignation.

Roy then told her that ensuring her wellbeing is payment enough for him.

In response, Lauren asked about his wellbeing and said that if Roy has "needs" she doesn't mind helping him.

Her offer left Roy stunned and he told her that there has been a "misunderstanding."

He also checked with Lauren that he had not given her the impression that's what he wanted from her, before arranging for Carla Connor to put her up.

But before Carla could help Lauren she ran off clearly embarrassed by what she had done.

The scene didn't go down well with viewers at home, who were left with unpleasant thoughts.

One viewer wrote on Twitter: "Lauren asking Roy if he had needs (sick emoji) that whole scene went through me."

While another commented: "That Roy and Lauren scene was uncomfortable watching #Corrie."

A third said: "Omg Lauren and Roy! This is f*****g cringe #Corrie."

After watching the scenes another viewer tweeted: "I feel physically sick #Corrie."

But some fans felt like the scenes were well-acted despite their uncomfortable nature.

One viewer shared their feelings saying: "Brilliant from both of them. How sad that Lauren thought that's what Roy wanted.

"Love the advice and support Roy always gives to the troubled youngsters."
