Coronation Street star Todd Boyce has confirmed that one final cobbles favourite will face the wrath of Stephen Reid ahead of the character’s comeuppance.
Stephen, as viewers know, has claimed the lives of three residents thus far, but the net is starting to close in on the killer, with recent scenes having seen Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) grow suspicious.
After restless night, Stephen returned to the canal where he disposed of second victim Teddy’s body, which Todd reckons ‘wasn’t very wise’.
Little did the killer know, however, that Tim had followed him, with a very unique ringtone sounding, alerting Stephen to the fact that someone was close by.
In a bid to find out who it was that potentially witnessed his moment of madness, Stephen takes ‘amusing’ action, according to Todd.
‘He’s got to determine whose ringtone that is,’ the soap star told Metro.co.uk on the red carpet of the Inside Soap Awards. ‘He does that in an amusing way.
‘He wants to be down with the kids. At one point he says: “Jenny says my ringtone’s very boring, can you suggest any ringtones?”
‘He’s fishing around and trying to listen to all the ringtones in Weatherfield that he can listen to. But as soon as he determines who’s ringtone it is, I think Tim could be in a spot of bother!
‘Stephen is going to have to shut that down.’
Consider us very worried for Tim. Todd was recently spotted filming upcoming scenes on location as Stephen and Tim get into something of an altercation.
Pictures from the shoot confirm that Stephen is trying to strangle Tim with a tie from the backseat of a taxi before actually trying to complete the murder while outside of the vehicle.
But with Stephen’s reign of terror set to end shortly, will he claim a fourth life in Tim? Or will Tim manage to escape the horror with his life intact?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
