Corrie star says she’s ‘off’ after filming final scenes for dramatic trial plot

Coronation Street star Lynn Kennedy has confirmed she's waving goodbye to the cobbles, telling fans she's "off".

The brunette played Karen Rutherford, the sister of evil stalker Justin (Andrew Still), and turned up in Weatherfield this year as he was facing trial for his vicious acid attack.

However, it seems her stint in the ITV soap has already come to an end as Lynn posted a message on Instagram that suggested she's shot her final scenes.

Sharing a snap of herself bundled up in a red coat as she got ready to leave the dressing room, she wrote: "And just like that, Karen's off."

"Bye @coronationstreet it's been amazing!!" added the actress, whose other TV credits include Clink, The Shore and Armchair Detectives.

Karen made a splash during her time in Corrie by trying to sabotage Justin's trial after he was accused of stalking Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) and chucking sulphuric acid over Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).

Thankfully justice won out and he was convicted in tense scenes that had viewers gripped.

Many flocked to Twitter to express their relief that "smug" Justin had finally got his comeuppance.

"Yes! Guilty!!!!!" posted one.

Another tweeted: "Yesss! So glad that disgusting creep Justin has been found guilty."

"I really had my doubts that Justin would be found guilty," remarked somebody else.

"Good to see #Corrie get it right for a change!"

"Thank God Justin was found guilty, and still he yells his undying love to Daisy," said another fan.

"He needs psychiatric help while in there."

One even thought Karen might follow in her brother's footsteps.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Justin's, (seemingly) weirdo sister's gonna carry on where Justin left it all, y'know!" they wrote.

"She comes across right dodgy!"
