Away from the soap Todd has appeared in Hollywood movies and has left his Corrie co-stars "sweating". As the walls close in on evil Stephen, Daily Star has taken a look inside his life away from the show.
Corrie past
Stephen is the illegitimate son of Audrey and Geoff Masters and is the oldest half-brother of Gail. Todd first appeared in Corrie as Stephen in 1996 and then again in 19997. He was last seen on the Cobbles in 2007 when he returned to visit his family for Christmas. Stephen later returned to Milan with niece Sarah Platt and her daughter Bethany. He was unable to attend Gail's fifth wedding to Joe McIntyre.
Rival soap role
Todd appeared in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as Herb Carter back in 2012.
The character was the husband of Connie Carter and father of Doug Carter.
Doug revealed to his parents that he was gay and in a relationship with Ste Hay.
Struggling to come to terms with the lie and revelation, Herb and Connie returned to the United States without speaking to Doug, leaving him hurt.

However, the pair returned in December 2012 as Herb had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
Herb offered Doug £20,000 for him to move to the United States with Ste and Ste's children, Leah Barnes and Lucas Hay, but the pair declined.
Herb was too ill to attend Doug's funeral after he was killed in a bomb explosion in October 2013.
Hollywood stardom
As well as appearing soaps, Todd has also appeared in several movies. He played Dupont in The King's Man, Jude in Murder on the Orient Express and Chief of Police in Kick-Ass 2. The actor has also leant his vocals to video game 007 Legends and he was also the announcer on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He also played opposite Kylie Minogue in The Delinquents back in 1989.
Netflix fame
Soap star Todd, who was born in Columbus, Ohio, also appeared as U.S.A.F General in The Crown. The historical drama television series tells the story of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The Crown has been praised by critics for its acting, directing, writing, cinematography, and production values, though its historical inaccuracies have received some criticism, particularly within the fourth season.
It has received numerous accolades, including a total of 63 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for its first four seasons, winning twenty-one, including Outstanding Drama Series for its fourth season, and seven awards for the cast. The series has also twice won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama, at the 74th and 78th ceremonies, with additional acting wins for Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, Emma Corrin, Josh O'Connor and Gillian Anderson.

Ever since Stephen has become a killer, Todd's co-stars have been left worried their characters could be next.
He said: "What is quite wonderful is Iain [MacLeod – Corrie's producer] and the writers, I think I’ve had a scene with probably every main character on the street, which makes them all terrified, I’m sure, they know to stay away from me," he told press.
"But if I get asked one more time, repeatedly, by the same people – 'so how long are you gonna be in the show?' I’ve had people ask me three or four times, the same person, because they want to know how long they’ve got to be worried for.
"They’re just sweating it, they just really are. And then there are rumours about people that I don’t think I would kill, I’m being told ‘I think you’re gonna kill that person’, I’m like 'are you sure?' They’re nervy."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
