There are emotional scenes for Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) as she feels forced to give in to the pressure and deny what happened to her.
Aaron (James Craven) is unimpressed by the letter she writes exonerating him, and it soon leads to Amy rightfully snapping.
Meanwhile, the sinister Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) moves in for the kill once more, as we see him poison Elaine (Paula Wilcox) with caffeine pills, after swapping out her blood pressure medication.
It’s the next stage of his evil plot and poor Elaine is oblivious.
And over in the Rovers, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is in two minds over whether to forgive wife Sarah (Tina O’Brien).
It takes a few sage words from a very experienced Ken (William Roache) to make his mind up.

No stranger to affairs, Ken explains how he and Deirdre went through choppy waters, but his life with her was the happiest time of his life.
The conversation leaves Adam feeling thoughtful.

Amy has written a letter to take back her allegation but Aaron is unimpressed after reading it, telling her it doesn’t make sense.
Amy hits back that he knows the truth that he raped her and it’s hard to write a letter of lies.
As he complains that it still makes him look guilty, upset Amy tells him to just write it himself – she just wants this to be over.
