Countryfile fans have a BIG problem with presenter Tom Heap as they blast BBC for 'doom and gloom' | The Sun

COUNTRYFILE fans have a BIG problem with presenter Tom Heap as they blast the BBC for 'doom and gloom'.

The 56-year-old journalist has worked on the BBC show since 2012 and is its investigative reporter.

It means Tom regularly deals with some of the most important and serious environmental and agricultural issues affecting the country.

In the last year, topics have included climate change and the threat of rising waters, UK water shortages and illegal scallop catching.

While Tom's subject matters are an integral part of the show and deserve to be covered on a national programme, some Countryfile viewers have grown weary of what they consider to be his 'doom-mongering'.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Is there a more doom-laden presenter than Tom Heap on #Countryfile? This week’s waiting disaster is that we are going to run out of water and all nature will disappear, wiping out all humans."

Another added: "I've zoned out of Tom's latest doom piece. I'm sure it's important mind you."

A third tweeted: "Is it too late to edit the doom gene out of Tom?"

Meanwhile a fourth joked alongside a gif of Kathy Bates in her iconic role in Misery: "#countryfile Tom Doom old misery guts."

A fellow Countryfile viewer cheekily wrote: "And now the #GrimHeaper with more doom and gloom! #Countryfile."

Tom isn't the only presenter who viewers comment on, as they have also become annoyed by one of Adam Henson's habits.

During this week's episode, Tom spoke about his father, but fans were quick to point out that this isn't the first time.

One wrote: "Is Henno taking the p*** ? How many times does he say Dad? #countryfile"

Another posted: "30 seconds in and Adam mention his Dad saving 'rare breeds' Please #bbc #countryfile stop him! It's driving everyone nuts!!"

A third said: "Every week this t*** mentions his Dad who invented almost everything! #countryfile"

A fourth added: "A drink for every time Adam says …dad or rare breeds. #countryfile".

Countryfile airs on Sundays on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
