Tonight (April 16) will see the launch of the new Channel Four reality show Scared Of The Dark, which will see eight celebrities spend a week living alongside one another in total darkness.
And ahead of the launch, former EastEnders star and show host Danny Dyer was given a sneak peek into what living in total darkness would feel like.
Stuck in the dark Danny launched into a hilarious expletive-ridden rant, as he asked: "What the f*** are you doing Channel 4? You f***ing lunatics. This is f***ing b*llocks this is, this… what the f*** are these people doing?"
Discussing the celebs, who were soon to enter, Danny added: "They're seriously going to be earning their f***ing reddies in here."
As the TV host got used to his surroundings a voice stated "attention" to which Danny replied: "what the f*** do you want?" Before asking "what the f*** is that?" as he walked into a wall.
"This is going to be f***ing disaster, I'm telling you. This is f***ing mental" he finished.
Discussing the show, and how he signed on a host, Danny said: "Well, they came to me and asked me if I was interested in hosting a brand new reality show, and I was like, 'okay' and they said 'basically we're going to lock eight celebrities in the pitch black for eight days'.
"And I was like 'f***ing sign me up, it sounds amazing!' … Being the host of it is beautiful because I get them in and then I just watch it all unfold.
Describing the show as "so clever" Danny finished: "So clever, and a really good mix of celebrities. And it's a very emotional show, I'll tell you."
Taking part in the debut series of Scared of the Dark, are a wealth of famous faces from across all corners of sport, music and screen.
Leading the charge is The Wanted star, Max George, while TV personality Scarlett Moffatt, footballer Paul Gascoigne, and Love Island’s very own Chloe Burrows will also be hoping to brave the dark for the duration of the competition.
In addition, they will also be joined by retired pro-boxer Nicola Adams, professional boxer Chris Eubank, Comedian Chris McCausland, and Netflix’s The Sandman actress Donna Preston.
Scared of the Dark will start on Sunday, 16 April at 9pm on Channel 4, before continuing nightly throughout the week at 9pm.
This means a slight shift in the usual TV schedule for some of the network’s most popular shows, that week, which will see Celebrity Hunted move to 10pm on Tuesday, while, Taskmaster shifts to 10:30pm on Thursday.
