The hire marks the latest move by longtime Golden Globes and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve producer DCP since it was acquired in January by Penske Media Eldridge, a Penske Media Corp subsidiary and joint venture between PMC and Eldridge. In June, DCP and Eldridge acquired the Golden Globes from the HFPA, and set a January 7, 2024 date for the 81st annual ceremony.
PMC is also the owner of Deadline.
“Rick brings a wealth of experience to this role and will add significant value to the team,” said Jay Penske, CEO, Chairman & Founder of Penske Media and CEO, DCP. “We look forward to tapping into his expertise as we continue to creatively execute and evolve our incredible slate of live productions for the future.”
Pizante previously founded Pizante Productions, and had consulted for DCP on its productions of the Streamy Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards. His other clients included Wolf Entertainment, NBCUniversal, Fullscreen Media and Fox Alternative Entertainment.
For Twitter, Pizante produced social content surrounding concerts, festivals, premieres and specials including the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys as well as America’s Got Talent, American Idol and Dancing With the Stars among others.
Most recently, Pizante served as a production consultant for Fox Alternative, where he helped to produce pilots and series including I Can See Your Voice and Name That Tune.
