However, there is no news on when his season as the Time Lord will premiere, but it will be at some point in 2024.

“My Doctor is emotionally vulnerable. He hides it with humour, but he’s lonely,” the actor told Rolling Stone UK earlier this year.

“I can’t say much more than that; I don’t want to spoil anything. But he’s also energetic! The poor cameramen struggled to keep up.”

Opening up about being a huge fan of the BBC series, Ncuti added: “There is undoubtedly a special quality about Doctor Who that’s hard to deny.

“When you watch it, you forget all your troubles. You go to space, or to another time. You have adventures.”

Ncuti has replaced Jodie Whittaker as the show’s lead after she made history as the first-ever female Doctor.

Doctor Who will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer on November 25.
