Eamonn Holmes talks about Angela Rippon's impressive display on Strictly
Eamonn Holmes admitted he was left stunned after Angela Rippon showed off her flexibility during her first dance on Strictly Come Dancing with partner Kai Widdrington.
Watching a clip of Angela’s dance, Eamonn asked: “What particularly impressed you, Christopher? [Biggins]” to which he answered: “The lifting of the leg!”
Unsure, Eamonn continued: “Was it a real leg?” leaving Christopher to quip: “Uh, no… It was a false leg… of course, it was a real leg!”
The team were soon shown an image of the leg lift, which left Isabel stunned: “Look at that! That is how she did it!
“I messaged you at the time didn’t I, going ‘Are you watching this Eamonn?’,” but Eamonn wasn’t believing it.

He said: “Yes but that is a false leg, it is put in there and it is made to look like a real leg.”
Defending Angela, Isabel added: “No, I watched her lift it,” as Christopher added: “Her partner helped enormously.”
Isabel continued: “You can’t be helped that much to do the splits, Biggins then you can do it next year, we look forward to seeing it.”
Laughing Christopher praised: “Angela is fantastic, I mean she really is wonderful, incredible and I think she will do [well].

“And I thought last night as well was one of how the audience really went for her in a big way because she is an icon, especially in the dancing world.
“She presented that programme years ago, in black and white.”
Eamonn turned to his co-star as the clip was played once more and asked: “Could you do that Isabel?”
She admitted: “Yeah you see… I don’t think I could go that high.”
The Strictly judges were also left stunned by her first performance as Motsi Mabuse expressed: “My goodness! Well done!”
Shirley Ballas noted that she was emotional watching Angela after she looked back at being announced as a dancer by Angela some years ago.
Anton Du Beke shouted: “Go on you beauty! Go on girl! Come on!” with Craig Revel-Horwood noting their dance was “jaw-dropping.”
Angela and Kai scored seven across the board and found themselves at the top of the leaderboard at one point in the episode.
