BEN Mitchell has finally admitted how he played a part in Jags Panesar's death – and Kheerat lost his composure.
But EastEnders viewers were shocked to see the businessman trying to strangle the troublemaker before 9pm.
Fans have known for months Ben Mitchell (played by Max Bowden) called off Jags' protection after spotting Kheerat Panesar with Sharon Watts.
However, the character portrayed by Jaz Deol only found out the truth during last night's instalment of the BBC One soap.
He had taken Ben to his family home after noticing he wasn't in a good state.
Kheerat failed at keeping his cool and, upon finding out what Ben had done in retaliation for Sharon hurting his father Phil, physically lashed out at him.

The businessman was seen overpowering Ben after a punch.
Livid, he also tried to strangle him – before his mother Suki intervened with her own conscience to clear.
Many soap fans flinched at the brutal scenes before complaining on social media the altercation was being aired before the 9pm watershed.
According to them, the fight was "far too violent" to hit the screens before then.

As mentioned above, the brawl was put to an end by Suki and Kheerat's partner Stacey Slater.

But Kheerat could have gone on to seriously hurt Ben as he was encouraged by both Ash and Vinny to keep strangling him.
Eventually, Suki had to admit she was the one to frame Jags for a robbery at Ruby's and Martin Fowler's assault – for which Vinny was actually responsible.
This led to a tense confrontation between her and her children, while Ben was taken back to Kathy's home by Stacey after regaining consciousness.
Ben was put to sleep by his mother before the Prince Albert owner confronted Phil about his behaviour with their son.
As a rape survivor herself, Kathy has been able to relate to how Ben is feeling but others are failing to understand him.
While Phil decided to give up on his son altogether, believing he was the only one responsible for his actions, a tearful Kathy told him Ben had been raped.
