EASTENDERS fans are convinced they know why Cindy Beale decided to abandon her daughters Gina and Anna and partner George Knight.
Viewers know that the returning Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is very much alive and went into witness protection as Rose Knight years ago.
She met George Knight (Colin Salmon) and they had two daughters together, Anna (Mollie Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry).
When Cindy suddenly left, the Knight family were left devastated and tried to contact her several times, but was ignored.
Now, years later, Cindy will come face to face with the Knight family with her ex husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) by her side.
But why did Cindy leave the Knights?

EastEnders star Melissa Suffield praised for showing off her ‘wobbly body’
Fans are convinced they have solved why and it's linked the her late daughter Lucy Beale.
One fan said: "She found out Lucy had died and then got paranoid that by having another family she was putting Anna and Gina in danger from the gangster family so she did a runner.
"Why she didn't think that when she hooked back up with Ian and Peter is anyone's guess but we're not meant to think too hard about it lol."
Another theorised: "My guess is that when Lucy was murdered, she thought it was a 'message' from the woman she was hiding from, and she had to run again. I don't know if she even knows it was Bobby."

EastEnders' Michelle Collins teases return for another of Cindy's children
A third penned: "On a slightly pointless but funny note. If she abandoned Gina and Anna after Lucy's death then she did it close to the same time Stella Price (played by Michelle) left Corrie."
This comes after Michelle teased a family reunion with her daughter viewers may have forgotten about, Cindy Junior.
After it was believed that Cindy died in labour, her newborn daughter Cindy Jr was raised by her aunt and grandmother
Cindy Jr was last seen on screen in 2015 when Mimi Keene departed the soap.
She said: "I have mentioned her, obviously. I can't really tell you too much about her.
"But I know she is alive. That's about all I know. But possibly, who knows?
“A lot has happened to her [Cindy Sr]. She's been through a lot and she's almost got PTSD.
"She is a bit traumatised, but still a very strong character.
