EastEnders fans set to find out truth about new Knight family in big show special

EastEnders fans are set for a week of shocks and surprises as the truth about the Knight family is exposed.

In a jaw-dropping set of episodes, Wednesday and Thursday's shows will air simultaneously on BBC One and BBC iPlayer so that all viewers can discover the secrets the new characters have been hiding at the same time – suggesting that there are some massive spoilers on the horizon.

The Knights are the newest additions to Albert Square, but other Walford residents and fans of the soap have been aware that they have not told their new neighbours the full truth about what brought them to their new home.

Now, the full story is set to be revealed and it sounds like it's going to be an unmissable moment for EastEnders fans as shockwaves are sent through the Square.

A teaser for the episodes which will air on Wednesday and Thursday 21 and 22 June reads: "Let’s make it a Knight to remember…

"The truth about George Knight’s family is set to be revealed. To find out what really happened all those years ago, Wednesday and Thursday’s episode of EastEnders will air on BBC One and iPlayer simultaneously at 1930 so that audiences can watch the truth unfold together."

George Knight, played by Bond star Colin Salmon, is a boxer nicknamed The Nightmare who arrived on the Square already well known by many of the other residents.

But it soon became clear that he was hiding multiple secrets which Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been keen to get to the bottom of.

His partner Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) – who is also Linda's mother – has rubbed a few people up the wrong way, while eldest daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) is cut from the same cloth as her dad and younger sister Anna ( Molly Rainford ) has been looking after them since the mysterious departure of their mum, Rose.

In fact, Rose's disappearance has been bothering other Walford residents, too – including Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) who was initially a huge fan of George and ready to go into business with him.

But after Linda told Phil that Rose was missing, he decided he could not go into business with someone he didn't trust and set up some snooping through police records to find out more.

Although nothing turned up on George, suspiciously all access to Rose's records was denied, leaving more clues that there is a pretty explosive Knight family secret set to emerge, and which EastEnders fans are hoping to discover more about in the coming days.

EastEnders will air the Knight family episodes on Wednesday, 21 and Thursday, 22 June at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
