EastEnders' iconic stars dress up in murder costumes for NTAs and we're obsessed

Ever since the iconic EastEnders flash forward episode, which saw six Walford Women gathered around a dead body, we have been thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing if The Six turned up to an awards ceremony dressed in their signature colours?’

But that would never happen, surely? They’d never go into that much detail to promote a storyline, right?

Wrong.

EastEnders has sent fans into a – spin would be the wrong word, because it is more of a whirlwind – ahead of their appearance at the National Television Awards this evening (September 5), by teasing fans with their biggest whodunit storyline in recent times.

For those who don’t know why so many people are typing in capital letters over some of the pictures of the cast tonight, allow us to explain.

In February, fans were tweeted to a flash forward to Christmas 2023, which saw The Six, as they have come to be known, all gathered around a dead body.

The only hint to the identity of that body were a pair of cufflinks, but we’ll get to those later.

The Six, comprising of Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), were all wearing striking colours, which some fans have come to believe will play an important part in the mystery.

Tonight, fans were left gobsmacked when Kellie, Gillian, Lacey, Diane, Balvinder and Letitia all turned up to the NTAs wearing their signature The Six colours.

Not only that, but they made sure to stand in the same order as their promo picture at all times.

Talk about commitment!

The level of detail the show has gone to to keep this story at the forefront of fans minds is beyond insane, and it doesn’t even stop there.

Could this have narrowed down the potential murder victims, putting the likes of the previously suspected Theo Hawthorne, Ravi Gulati and Nish Panesar out of the picture completely?

Whatever the outcome, the commitment to this story from cast and crew alike is astounding, and it is certainly one which will be talked about for years to come.
