EastEnders legend Nick Berry is totally unrecognisable over three decades since he left the Square.
The actor, who played Simon ‘Wicksy’ Wicks for five years in the BBC One soap, was pictured out and about wearing a t-shirt and jeans as he enjoyed some time to himself like the icon that he is.
Nick, 60, left the world of showbiz a number of years ago to be a stay-at-home dad, after appearing in two of the nation’s biggest TV series’ during the 80s and 90s.
The TV legend famously made his debut in EastEnders back in 1985 shortly after its premiere, with character Simon staging quite the entrance during the show’s 67th episode when he rocked up in the market in his flash car.
Known affectionately to his friends and family as Wicksy, the barman swiftly achieved heartthrob status and appeared in numerous storylines over the years, including a long-running romance with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), as well as a relationship with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), who is set to return to Walford this year.
The character is perhaps most fondly remembered for penning the absolute tune that is Every Loser Wins in 1986, shortly after leaving musical group The Banned, which included Sharon, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), Kelvin Carpenter (Paul J Medford).
In the real world, Every Loser Wins, which was co-written by EastEnders composer Simon May, was quite the success, enjoying three weeks at Number One in the UK charts, with Nick even filming an accompanying music video for the track.
We’re still obsessed with it.
Shortly before his departure, Wicksy had an affair with Cindy, who subsequently fell pregnant with his child Steven.

Ian, who was married to Cindy at the time, believed that Steven was his child and, when the truth was revealed there was animosity aplenty, with Ian and Wicksy’s brotherly bond severed.
After departing EastEnders in 1990, Simon would go on to play PC Nick Rowan in ITV’s Heartbeat, becoming a permanent fixture of Sunday night telly for six years between 1992 and 1998.
The star also sung the iconic theme tune for the series, used on the opening credits. You know, that one that’s stuck in your head right now?
After stepping out of the limelight some years ago, Nick told Daily Mail in 2011 that he decided to be a ‘stay-at-home dad’, which he ‘loved.’
‘I always said that when the boys were teenagers I could go back, but the longer you don’t do something the harder it is to do it, and I haven’t really missed it,’ he told the publication at the time.
The 60-year-old staged a brief EastEnders comeback in 2012, with Wicksy paying tribute to his mum Pat Evans (Pam St Clement) on the day of her funeral.
