EastEnders news: Tributes flood in for Josephine Melville after she dies backstage; plus Emmerdale & Corrie spoilers | The Sun

FORMER EastEnders star Josephine Melville has passed away backstage during a theatre performance, her agent has confrimed.

The actress is renowned for starring on the soap as Tessa Parker, the girlfriend of Kelvin Carpenter, in 1986.

She was performing in a play at Nottingham Playhouse.

Ex-Corrie star Denice Welch tweeted: “So so sad. A wonderful actress ❤️”.

Singer and songwriter Lorraine King wrote: “Terrible news to hear of the sudden death of Josephine Melville. Amazing energy for the East Beach festival and an inspiration for the creative arts here in Southend. Thoughts are with her family and friends.”

    Summer Spellman left Corrie fans speechless as she made a life-changing choice about her pregnancy.

    She recently found out that boyfriend Aaron impregnated her.

    But she later told Billy and Paul that she intends to have an abortion.

    Fans claim Samson’s phone ‘appears in wrong place’ on Emmerdale  

    Emmerdale fans noticed a humiliating error on Friday’s show.

    Missing Samson Dingle’s smashed up phone was found in a field on Thursday’s episode.

    But on Friday, fans noticed it was actually in a woodland area surrounded by trees.

    One wrote: "Just watched yesterday back, Samson’s phone was in a field under a stick.. and now it’s in the woods."

    Another viewer added: "Amazing how Samson's phone in # emmerdale miraculously moved from the middle of a field to the woods since last night's episode."

    EastEnders viewers were in tatters on Thursday night as Denzel Danes brutally dumped Amy.

    After the merciless dumping, the young soap character looked to begin self-harming, breaking the hearts of fans everywhere.

    One of them penned: “Mental health storyline with Amy, I’m balling my eyes out.”

    Now, some fans think Emmerdale legend Sam could be next.

    Emmerdale stars gather for Liv’s goodbye meal

    Liv Dingle was one of the first victims of Emmerdale’s 50th-anniversary storm, and now the cast has come together to say farewell to actress Isobel Steele.

    “My leaving meal. It was such a perfect night,” Isobel Steele’s caption read.

    Fans absolutely loved the post, with one saying: “THAT PIC… pretending Liv, Aaron and Robert got a happy ending together! You’ll be missed. Liv was so loved!”

    Emmerdale star gives birth to her second child

    Laura Norton and Mark Jordan have welcomed their second child and shared her adorable name.

    Laura, 39, shared sweet snaps of their new arrival, captioning the post: “She’s here!!!! We’ve baked another belta.

    “This little superstar joined us on Mon 17th October. She’s dead clever and a tiny little bundle of joy and beauty. Ronnie Jordon.”

      Death toll to rise this weekend, Emmerdale boss says

      Tim O’Mara, director of the show’s 50th-anniversary special, has revealed the death toll won't stop at Harriet and Liv, and could go up to as many as EIGHT people.

      Speaking to ITV Yorkshire, he said: “No one is safe. There’s a possibility of eight or nine characters not being around for very long.

      “We do go to the hospital on a number of visits, a number of people hurt by debris flying around the village, there are accidents in the woods, trees falling on people.

      “There are massive accidents at the farm which might attract the attention of one or two characters.

      “And there’s a massive problem in the village that will involve two of the other characters.

      “Plus there’s some stunts in the woods nearby.

      “And of course, there’s a wedding.

      “So when you mix all of that up, all these ingredients, it’s going to be sensational. No one is safe.”

      The 30-year-old actress plays Albert Square icon Lola, who is currently embroiled in a harrowing cancer storyline on the show.

      Birds of a Feather actress 'in talks' over joining EastEnders

      Linda Robson, Loose Women panelist, is reportedly having discussions with producers over joining the cast.

      It is thought she could join the show as Lola Pearce's mother.

      This comes after it was revealed Lola's fate takes a tragic twist after a brain tumour diagnosis.

      The Sun at the Best Heroes Awards in the St Ermin’s Hotel, London Linda, 64, said: "I have actually been talking to EastEnders.

      "They are looking for Lola’s mum. She’s not very well is she? I don’t watch the soaps so I don’t know, but I met her at the NTAs the other day, and she said she would love me to play her mum."

        Despite receiving medical assistance, Josephine tragically died at the scene.

        Leeds Playhouse released a statement about her death: "We are deeply saddened to announce that last night the actor Josephine Melville, passed away backstage at Nottingham Playhouse following the performance of the play Nine Night, in which she was performing.

        "Josephine's family have been informed, and our thoughts and deep condolences are with them."

        Faith Dingle recently bowed out of Emmerdale, but actress Sally said she is holding a “lot of tension” after filming the harrowing scenes.

        The character died after ending her life due to having terminal cancer, and Sally explained to The Sun that filming the scenes was tiring.

        Sally told The Sun: “It was important. And actually, I’d say I’m still still aching a little bit from it, because you hold the tension of it in your bones.

        “So yeah, I’m still [feeling it], I’ve been doing a lot of home yoga.”

        Fans have reacted to the shocking, and in some scenes, grisly deaths that were aired this week.

        Liv Flaherty tragically died after paramedics were unable to help her, after she was crushed by a caravan.

          Coronation Street star meets his double

          Jack P. Shepherd met his lookalike!

          The actor, who plays David Platt, met his very own waxwork copy, making his proud mother very emotional.

          He spoke to the Liverpool Echo about the impressive moment, saying: "I'm feeling a lot of emotions, pleased and freaked out. Everybody in the world knows Madame Tussauds and to be in there is just mad."
