EastEnders spoilers: Whitney Dean suffers devastating blow after abortion | The Sun

WHITNEY Dean and Zack Hudson are left devastated over another shock after following through with a termination.

Parents to be Whitney (Shona McGarty) and Zack  (James Farrar) had to make the heartbreaking decision to abort their baby after learning it was diagnosed with Edwards' Syndrome.

A rare and serious genetic condition, Edwards' Syndrome is also known as trisomy 18 and begins to affect babies when they're in the womb before impacting their health throughout their life.

There is no definitive treatment for the condition and parents of the child affected often have the choice between palliative care and prolonging their baby's life with intensive treatment or even surgery.

The doctor informed the devastated pair that their unborn baby would have little chance of survival before, during and after the birth.

Not wanting to for her baby to suffer, Whitney thinks an abortion is their only option.
