EastEnders star drops huge hint on Christmas 2023 death with cryptic comment

EastEnders' Aaron Thiara has weighed in on the debate among fans over who'll be killed at Christmas 2023, hinting that his character Ravi Gulati "has a lot of enemies".

EastEnders bosses teased an upcoming death on Albert Square in a flash-forward earlier this year, with Denise Fox, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar and Sharon Watts in a wedding dress seen standing over the body of an unknown person on Christmas Day 2023.

Addressing the mystery storyline, EastEnders star Aaron told Inside Soap that the drama is set to go "up a notch" when it comes to villain Ravi.

"I can't escape the fan theories," he said. "The comments have been lovely though – people say: 'No you can't be the body on the floor!' But Ravi has a lot of enemies, and plenty of characters want to see the back of him.

"What I will say is there's a lot to come in the next few months, and it goes up a notch in terms of what that might mean for Ravi in the lead-up to Christmas."

Aaron also spoke about his "bromance" with co-star James Farrar, who is best known for playing Zack Hudson on the soap, with the Ravi actor saying: "I'm very grateful we've crossed paths. I'd love more scenes with James – I think there's more to come for Ravi and Zack's friendship."

Ravi is certainly not in Denise's good books after their affair was exposed and she was blackmailed to learn what information Jack Branning had on Ravi's criminal connections.

Meanwhile, it wasn't long ago that Sharon reported Ravi to the police for the brutal attack on her lover Keanu.

While fans are still no closer to identifying the character who'll be killed in this year's Christmas special, EastEnders released a new flash-forward clip in April, in which Denise is seen drinking a cocktail alone in the Queen Vic before smashing her glass on the floor.

The clip then showed a montage of "The Six" matriarchs involved, ending with the words: "In a flash, everything changes…"

The mysterious death isn't the only exciting storyline to come from EastEnders this year, with Michelle Collins rumoured to be reprising her role as Cindy Beale, 25 years on from the character's death.

She's set to reunite with her on-screen husband Adam Woodyatt, who'll be back as Ian Beale, in an episode later in 2023.
