EastEnders Whitney death sealed as bosses want memorable exit after 15 years

EastEnders' Whitney Dean could die as BBC bosses want the character to have a "memorable" exit.

Whitney, played by Shona McGarty, first made her way to Walford in 2008 alongside step-mum Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and her children.

Shona, 31, has played the character since she was 16 but has now taken the decision to leave the soap after 15 years.

It's been reported that Whitney's final scenes will broadcast early next year, with producers of the award-winning serial drama currently thinking about her exit storyline.

Now, Daily Star has used artificially intelligent “creative” tool Bard AI to find out how Shona could exit the soap, with one pointing to a tragic end for the character.

The system said: "It is possible that Whitney will leave Walford under tragic circumstances.

"She has been through a lot of trauma in her life, and she may finally decide that she can't take anymore.

It added: "She may be killed off, or she may simply decide to disappear from Walford without a trace".

Another possibility shared by Bard AI is that Whitney could leave Albert Square and start a new life with her partner, Zack Hudson (James Farrar).

"The couple have been through a lot together in recent months, including the loss of their baby daughter, Peach.

"They may decide to start afresh away from the pain and memories of Walford."

While a further theory is that Whitney will bid farewell to Walford to pursue her dream of becoming a singer.

The programme continued: "She has a beautiful singing voice and has been offered a number of opportunities in the past, but she has always put her family and friends first.

"Now that she is free to pursue her own dreams, she may decide to leave Walford and start a new life as a singer."

It went on to say: "Whatever the reason for Whitney's exit, it is sure to be a dramatic and emotional one.

"Bosses will want a memorable exit for a character who has been a part of the show for 15 years."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
