Emmerdale fans are set to see in 2023 with the repercussions of super soap week still rippling across the ITV village.
Bosses Jane Hudson, Kate Brooks and Laura Shaw have promised that the impact of several character deaths will propel the soap into next year, along with plenty of heartache after the deadly storm.
Confirming multiple deaths across the 50th anniversary, Jane admitted: "It is always hard to kill a character as someone is losing their job. You don’t want somebody to lose their job. But the nature of soaps means if you want to introduce new characters, then you need to lose old ones.

"If you are going to do a death in the soap, it can’t be the postman who has had three lines because it doesn’t matter.
"A death has got to have an impact not just on the characters but also on the viewers watching. Each of our deaths will bring a different emotion," she promised.
Jane went on to add that the storylines of October will be talked about "for a long time", explaining: "I think the richness of the storylines across this month will be talked about for a long time.
"We have so many stories across one month and alongside that, we have three epic stunts. We don’t die down after the stunts either because we end on a huge cliff-hanger."
Kate added: "The storylines and the impact of what happens will propel us into 2023."
And Jane, at least, is already looking forward to Emmerdale's centenary celebrations, giggling: "We don’t know what we’ve got to look forward to at Emmerdale’s 100th birthday but we know it will be cracking. And it had better still be here! We’ve got mortgages to pay for and children to look after!"
At least one death has been confirmed by soap spoilers, as fans will bid an emotional farewell to Faith Dingle at the end of her cancer journey, as she decides to take her own life.

And sources also told The Sun that Liv Flaherty star Isobel Steele has quit the ITV soap, with her character to be killed off.
A TV insider told the publication: "She feels like she’s done all she can at Emmerdale and wants to focus on her music career and make a real go of it. Bosses have pulled out all the stops for the 50th anniversary month and Isobel’s exit will be no different."
They went on to promise fans will be "on the edge of their seats", and admitted Liv's death will be a "real heartbreaker" – something avid soap viewers will remember for "a long time to come".
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV.
