Emmerdale confirms Nicky's big secret as he kisses newcomer Ally

Emmerdale has confirmed huge fan theory, with Nicky Milligan’s (Lewis Cope) secret friend Ally (Josh Horrocks), who rocked up in the eponymous village last week, being revealed as the nanny’s ex boyfriend.

Nicky, as viewers know, is in cahoots with Caleb Milligan (William Ash), who is hellbent on destroying Kim Tate (Claire King) and claiming her fortune for himself in a bid to to avenge dead father Frank Tate.

The mission involved schmoozing Kim into going into business with him, which he has succeeded in doing so. Nicky, meanwhile, was tasked with targeting Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), who has fallen head over heels in love with the nanny, unaware that she’s being played.

Nicky has even got Gabby to agree to marry him, but a big twist last week saw his wedding planning almost scuppered as a lad named Ally arrived in the village, with subsequent scenes confirming him to be an old acquaintance of Nicky, who was keen to get rid of him as soon as possible.

The schemer’s attention was elsewhere during Monday’s (April 24) edition of the ITV soap, which saw him plot to steal a car from Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) garage in a bid to sell it and give the money to Caleb, hoping to win his dad’s approval, knowing he’s in need of the cash as part of his plot with Kim.

The plan, however, backfired dramatically, with Cain catching Nicky in the act and a heated altercation ensuing.

Nicky ended up on the receiving end of a number of blows dished out by hard-man Cain as a helpless Caleb watched on, unable to intervene for fear of blowing his cover.

After hightailing it out of the garage empty-handed, Nicky was evidently heartbroken that his dad stood by and watched him get attacked, calling him out on such a thing during a heated showdown later that day, with a side to character not previously seen coming to light.

Caleb, however, had little sympathy for his son, reiterating how he will let nothing stand in the way of his grand plan, as he ordered Nicky to ‘grow up’ and return home at once so that he could put a smile on Gabby’s face.

Nicky, however, had other ideas.

The nanny subsequently met with Ally on a remote road outside the village. Ally was keen to get an explanation on why he had been summoned, in addition to why Nicky is marrying Gabby when she’s ‘not his type’, branding the engagement a ‘sham’.

Nicky, however, wasn’t pleased with the newcomer’s line of questioning, reiterating that he’s not ‘playing at anything’, as he grabbed hold of Ally and shoved him against the car, before leaning in for a kiss.

Ally reciprocated, confirming that their relationship is more than just platonic, with the two appearing to be former lovers. The question is: will Nicky’s secret be revealed?

Emmerdale continues Tuesday April 25 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
