Emmerdale, EastEnders AND Coronation Street all cancelled tonight | The Sun

SOAP fans will have to wait before they can catch up with their favourite dramas as ITV and the BBC altered their schedules.

Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders have been pulled off the air tonight in favour of Her Majesty The Queen's funeral.

The broadcasters have made the decision to cancel their shows once again to bid a final farewell to the Queen.

ITV cancelled both of its iconic soaps – respectively aired at 7.30pm and 8pm on a Monday – alongside all shows on Monday, September 19, 2022, to broadcast the sovereign's funeral from 6am until midnight.

Programs that have been put on hold include The Chase and Real Housewives of Cheshire.

This is reportedly the first time ITV agrees to air the same single broadcast across its entire network, meaning the Queen's funeral will also be shown on ITV2 and ITVBe.

ITV will, however, still air its usual Evening News from 6:30pm to 7:30pm before Queen Elizabeth II: A Nation Remembers, a documentary in Her Majesty's honour.

Repeats of One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars and Heartbeat have also been cancelled and ITV3 will not have its showings of Classic Emmerdale and Classic Coronation Street.

Soap fans are thus left with the ITV Hub to catch up with the latest events in the cobbles and in the Yorkshire Dales.

And with so many cancellations, viewers wondered whether the BBC followed suit – which was eventually confirmed.

Much like Corrie and Emmerdale, EastEnders will not be shown on screens tonight although BBC One will still air another instalment of The One Show dedicated to the Queen and the 2017 film Paddington until 8.30pm.

This will be followed by the Queen's state funeral until 10pm, before BBC One's News at Ten.
