Emmerdale fans all ask the same question after Paige Sandhu 'misses' huge British Soap Awards win | The Sun

EMMERDALE fans were all saying the same thing after show star Paige Sandhu "missed" the soap's winning moment.

The ITV programme scooped Best Soap at the British Soap Awards on Saturday yet the iconic Meena Jutla actress, who looked completely different from her character in a stunning sequin dress, was nowhere to be seen.

Emmerdale's cast were understandably elated to scoop the prestigious gong at London's Hackney Empire.

Yet eagle-eyed fans picked up on Paige's absence amid the celebrations, with one taking to Twitter to wail: "PAIGE HASN'T MADE IT BACK FOR THE BEST SOAP WIN."

Another quizzed: "Where’s Paige’s photos?"

Other's were quick to flag how Paige's murderous character had carried the soap during the past year.

Emmerdale’s Paige Sandhu looks totally different to killer Meena at awards

One commented: "Paige carried Emmerdale on her back. #SoapAwards2022."

Another wrote: "Meena looked like such a QUEEN at the #BritishSoapAwards and she so deserved Leading Performer, I believe it's because of her alone that Emmerdale won Best Soap!"

An Emmerdale fan then concluded: "I've just noticed that all the public voted categories (Best Soap, Leading Performer and Best Family) all went to Emmerdale 🙌 just shows that the public always make the right decision! #BritishSoapAwards #Emmerdale #bsas."

It could well have been the star missed the announcement because she was elsewhere backstage, or she was simply out of view in the group shot.

Yet when the camera was honed in on her, Paige certainly looked the part for Emmerdale's triumph as the soap won big.

The actress saw success as she scooped Best Leading Performer.

She beat out competition from her co-star Mark Charnock to take the coveted prize.

However Mark did take home the Best Dramatic Performance prize for his performance of Marlon’s stroke storyline.

The soap also took home the Best Family prize for its Dingle clan.

Paige joined the soap in September 2020 as Manpreet Sharma’s estranged sister but has quickly become a soap favourite.

Revealed as a psychopath last year, Meena has gone on to murder three villagers during her reign of terror.
