Emmerdale actor Darcy Grey has reportedly quit the role of Marcus Dean after one year on the ITV soap.
The actor, 31, first set foot in the Dales as Marcus in February 2021 and was introduced as the secret son of villain Pierce Harris.
But Marcus quickly proved he was nothing like his father and became a fan favourite amongst fans.
His major storylines have primarily revolved around his sweet relationship with lawyer Ethan Anderson (Emile John).

ITV confirmed to RadioTimes.com that the soap star has already filmed his final scenes, while a source told The Sun: "Marcus's time in the village came to a natural end. Darcy is keen to spread his wings but the door has been left open."
Marcus' exit is set to unfold in the coming weeks – and the news has left fans devastated as it means Marcus and Ethan's relationship will come to an end.
Taking to social media after learning the news, fans couldn't hide their sadness at Marcus saying goodbye to the village.
One fan penned: "So gutted about this, Marcus, is one of my favourite characters I hope he returns one day. Good luck @darcygrey you’re a fantastic actor and I’m sure you will go onto do amazing things but I’m going to miss you in Emmerdale!!!!"
Responding to the announcement, another user added: "This is such a shame because @darcygrey is a talent".
"Here's wishing Darcy Grey a wonderful career beyond the Dales. Sad to see him go," echoed a third.
Emmerdale bosses confirmed Marcus and Ethan will split, with show executive producer Jane Hudson revealing the two will go through "quite a journey" in the next few weeks.
She explained: "We've got our Anderson family – Charles, Ethan, Naomi and of course Manpreet, who's with Charles. They've finally got their own home – Charles and Manpreet – which is fantastic.
"We are going to see Ethan go through quite a journey with Marcus on screen, which will result in Ethan being young, free and single – and where will that lead us to?
"There is a lot in store for the Andersons this year," she teased.
